MY FAMILY CAR by Georgia Girl on 01/24/2012. Trim: 1996 Buick Skylark Custom sedan, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Good gas milage, runs great, looks decent and i've had it since 96 and i've only had to replace the heater coil in terms of big fixes.
Cons: If it rains you need to cover it with a tarp or you'll have a puddle in the driver side floorboard.
Overall review: To sum it up it's a excellent car and i'd give it a ten if anyone could figure out where the water comes in and how to fix it.

Very reliable. by Mike in Ohio on 12/17/2007. Trim: 1996 Buick Skylark Custom sedan, Owned 9 years.
Pros: I have had my car since 98. It has been a great work car for me. 226k miles now thru Ohio winters it has held up well with few repairs.
Cons: Rear leg room is biggest complaint. ABS light as mentioned before is touchy. Mine has been on constant now for 2 years, yet nothing wrong with ABS. Had it checked and works fine.
Overall review: Like I said I have 226k miles on this car and I really have beat it up. Aside from normal maintenance, belts, tires, oil change, brakes etc.. I have had to replace the water pump, this is known to go in these cars at about 70k miles and is a big expense, air conditioning compressor and that is really it.

Great Car---Until it Rained! by SCD, Baltimore MD metropolitan area on 02/19/2004. Trim: 1996 Buick Skylark Custom coupe, Owned 6 years.
Pros: I was so thrilled with my 96 Limited Coupe, "Snow," I went out and bought a used 95 Custom Coupe I called, "Twin." This was a good travelling car, except for one thing, at 6'1", I found the drivers- side leg room somewhat confining, and the seats were flat. This was the older design before the changes of 96.
Cons: "Twin" had one big prob. Every time it rained, there was a large, deep puddle on the driver's side floor that no-one seemed able to correct. In fact, one dealer rep said this was not uncommon!!!! And it would take, literally, days, to dry out---and you prayed for dry weather!
Overall review: The 95 was ok. But 96 brough in massive and needed improvements.
