One of the Family by Tom, Beavercreek, OH on 12/30/2003. Trim: 1993 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 4WD, Owned 10 years.
Pros: I'm the original owner and after 10 years she still blends in nice with today's in crowd of new SUVs. Sharp! It is funny how people refer to this model so personally. I feel the same way about mine-like one of the family. :)
Cons: Acceleration not so great. 5-speed (mine) is decent. Upgraded shocks helped cornering roll a lot. Same with upgraded headlight bulbs for night vision.
Overall review: Hopefully Toyota will keep making 'em better. I'm sold on the 4Runners all the way.

Worst Truck Ever!! by A CarPoint Consumer on 10/23/2001. Trim: 1993 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 4WD, Owned 8 years.
Pros: Good tires, Nice Ride Height, lots of Crome, the power back tailgate is something you don't see every day
Cons: Gas Guzzler...We got about 12 mpg with the V6 automatic, very slow truck needs way more torque, power windows took about two minutes too roll up, paint was coming off and bumpers and fenders were rusting. People say it's a reliable truck but i can't see that when the WHOLE ENGINE was recalled and replaced. The seats were so hard and difficult to get comforatable.
Overall review: The good new's is we found some idiot that bought this truck off us for the same price we paid minus taxes. So there are plenty of suckers that like these truck God knows why there too expensive, aren't fun to drive at all, and just overall not worth it. I have know idea why my parent's even took one look at this truck. if you do get one of these trucks get a 5 speed...way faster. Don't even dare think about the 4 banger!

an un-bias educated review by William on 09/26/2001. Trim: 1993 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 2WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: very comfortable seats, sits high, very appealing/sporty suv (not like these business-men-never-use-it-for-what-it's-intended-for-suv's) rear window rolls down instead of flipping upwards, tight suspension-like a truck (again, not like a business-man-suv), minimal problems, cargo space, .
Cons: rear passenger leg room is very small ( but hey who cares, as long as I'm comfortable in the drivers seat :- ), breaks wear fast, too much engine noise can be heard in the cabin, not enough power (but what is enough power?), and the Cylinder Head Gasket and exhaust valves are supposively a problem, I have not had a problem yet. Toyota will reimburse for Cylinder Head Gasket repairs.
Overall review: it's toyota. As long as routine maintance is applied, it wil run till' it dies. Oh and don't listen to people when they say the gas mileage sucks, its avg., dont like it get a honda civic
