Pros:
Great styling, great off-road performance. Put Boston 8" speakers in door for wicked sound. Luxurious power package with power everything, and lovin the shift (4wd) on the fly. Handles great in snow. Really enjoy driving this, but try and keep k's low and money in my pocket. Can fit a full bunk bed completely inside, dry and safe, and can (just) sleep in the back.
Cons:
Gas mileage is harsh. I clean my K&N air filter often for best mileage. Sluggish on highway, little underpowered for a heavy beast. Expensive to fix. My '92 has 186,000 k's. New clutch, power steering pump, starter so far. Suspension soon. A little rust, but the paint's still hiding most of it for now. Timing belt @ 140,000.
Overall review:
Learning how to fix stuff myself to save labour costs. Runs great and is reliable, but will go for automatic tranny next time.

Dont Do it!

Pros:
Nice easy 4wd. Turns on a dime. Really comfortable to drive in. Great looking. Exterior and Interior are everything you can ask for in a small SUV.
Cons:
The V6 3ZVE is absolutely the worst engine design ever made. Under powered, head gasket problems, and Valve issues. It has absolutely no power.
Overall review:
This is the worst vehicle I have owned. I have owned it for 4 years and have only mustard 10,000 miles out of it because both times I took it on a out of town trip it broke down! First time was head gasket, so now its on its 3rd set of head gaskets, then the next trip the transmission went out. After repairs, which were expensive, it burnt exaust valves. Toyota wants $2200 to repair! By far the worst vehicle I have owned. I wish I would have done more research. Do not spend a dime on this truck, its more of a headache than anything! If you buy this all you are is inheriting somebody else's problems. Dont be fooled by the beauty of this SUV its not worth it!

Who wants a Jeep when you get so much more in a 4runner

Pros:
I love the style, and the features, for a 92 this truck is loaded..... power everthing It is a great first car... it was my first car and I still have it I bought it from a guy in 2008 that rebuilt the motor and everthing great truck! I wanted a jeep but insurance was to high and its way more affordable on this truck!
Cons:
Parts are expensive... and the power steering pump was hard to find.
Overall review:
I love it! Would take over a Jeep anyday!
