whats better then a turbocharged rear wheel drive sports car?
by Adrian on 04/23/2006.
Trim: 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
These cars are truely amazing. With only $3,000 in mods im running 334hp at the wheels and roughly 400hp at the crank reliable too because i also have a hks 1.5mm head gasket, apr head studs, and stage 2 clutch kit. Im running this much power and run high 12's in 1/4 mile on the stock ct-26 turbo as well.My car only has 129k miles and runs great.
Cons:
The head gasket should be replaced ASAP by a metal one if not already done. Dont expect to do BPU mods to a mk3 with more then 160k miles on engine. Rebuild or get a jdm one before adding mods with that much mileage. Turbo is also not reliable past 15psi, runs 6.8psi stock.
Overall review:
Great car that can be very fast and is reliable. The 7mgte motor is capable of 700 horsepower at the wheels and 10 second 1/4 mile times as long as its tuned and built right.

The Perfect Sports Car
by Alex from Concord, CA on 05/13/2003.
Trim: 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
Looks CLEAN when lowered,
Reliable even though you push it hard,
Power potential in the 900+ hp range,
Increbibly nimble for a rwd 3200 pound car,
The TEMS suspension lets you choose between potholes or
carving the twisties with the touch of a button,
Tranny is smooth and clutch grips hard,
Engine bulletproof with HKS head gasket replacement,
Example:
"In our opinion the Toyota 7MGTE engine is the absolute best powerplant available, period" (Top-End Performance)
Cons:
Frequent trips to the pump hurt the wallet,
The back seats are cramped for longleggers,
Blown Head Gaskets,
No manufacturer recall on blown head gaskets,
Can be expensive if you don't give it TLC
Overall review:
In my opinion the Mark-III Supra is the perfect blend of
power, handling, and ride.
The only improvment Toyota could make would be to
start making them again.

More for the $$$
by jimmy P on 01/31/2003.
Trim: 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned 4 years.
1
Pros:
This vehicle is a timeless Masterpiece. It can Outrun and outhandle almost every car on the road for very little $$$, and is just as reliable if not more so. I would recommend buying this car over a new sports car anyday considering the performance per dollar ratio value, whic only increases the more you spend. $12,000 on a car like this = the performance of a 35,000+++ car, and the more you spend the more you get. I have spent about $19,000 so far, and my car has the performance of (if not more) than a $125,000 Ferrarri.
Cons:
(No data provided)
Overall review:
The Best. Only Other car that I would consider is a newer supra or rx-7
