Good cheap family fun

Trim: 1991 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
I love how easy this thing is to repair and parts are nothing compared to my 94 Mit. Diam. wagon. The air cond pump is $125 for the toyota and $450 for the Mit. I had a 89 Toyota 2 wheel drive pickup and was great but it had the V6 and was not good on gas. After buying a new car every year I am done supporting the car makers. I love my 4Runner and will just keep fixing it. I just put a rebuilt head on it and the mileage is 294,000 and runs strong and dosn't burn oil yet. Great car with lots of room and the 4 cylinder could use more power but I wanted the gas mileage (22-24)
Cons:
I would like more power but I'm an old man and can deal with this.
Overall review:
Great car with tons of storage and it's 4 wheel drive. I wouldn't trade it for anything else. I personally like the looks of this year (90-94) and it is so so easy to fix. Great for older folks on a budget.

Fantastic 4WD for the Occasional Off Roader

Pros:
I've put 170,000 miles on it since I've had it. Love the room and the ride is acceptable for 4WD. Not a lot of power for much but does 22mpg on the hwy, no air. I tow my waverunner with it and commute some. I was the second owner and got it at 83,000 miles. Still runs great for the engine size. Will go just about anywhere. I have slept in it for a weekend camping, not bad at all.
Cons:
It's reliable, but the transmission is quirky feeling, has done well so far. It does leak at the power steering gearbox but always has since I've had it. The cup holders are the worst I have ever seen. Some things were poorly designed, but this was one of the earlier versions. I took the rear seat bottoms out so the rear seat backs lay flat. Nice, plus you get more accessible storage.
Overall review:
Great vehicle and fits my needs perfectly. Not a great ride but OK on the interstate. Gas mileage is acceptable. I'm looking at some aftermarket mods including a bigger engine when the time comes. I expect it to be around for a long time.

Pros:
Owner for 17 years, cargo area is so spacious, reliable braking system, maneuvering. This Suv is so confortable that you dont realize you are driving an Suv. I'm a 4' 11" tall female and dont have any trouble in seeing were I'm going, the bucket seats are confortable and can adjust to the perfect setting. Runs good the 4WD system in this Suv is great never had any problems at all. Exterior and Interior are great and easy to maintain.
Cons:
I've notice that this particular year has a problem with the exterior paint on the hood, nothing you cant fix. Otherwise have no other problem. Great Suv.
Overall review:
I love the elegance of the Toyota 4runner, it's like having a car and a truck in one. I would recommend this SUV to anyone, dependable transportation, parts you can purchase anywhere and very good gas mileage. If I purchasing a new vehicle, it will be a Toyota. 17 years and still running!!
