Inline 6 turbo 7MGTE by Keith Cedar Rapids,IOWA on 12/13/2009. Trim: 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned 4 years.
Pros: rock-solid bullet proof block capable of handling 750hp on stock crank. water and oil cooled turbo in 1989.
Cons: very long doors. ugly stock wheels. brake setup. dont have but dislike tems.
Overall review: definite passion project. 7mgte is economical in price range to build just the way you want. mature muscle that will get respect by whomever sees it.

Best japaneese sportcar of its time. (a contender in other markets too) by Jeff Foster, CO on 02/05/2006. Trim: 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned 3 years.
Pros: This is a quick car... and with a little work, it can scream. Feels like a rocket compared to my Audi 5000CSTQ. With some strut tower bars and a lower, harder suspension this thing handles like crazy. It's relatively comfortable for 2 people, and the adjustable seats, automatic climate control, and powered everything is nice. Rear wheel drive is great fun in a car like this, when the roads are dry. (Wet traction with good tires is fine, but ice driving is not happening)
Cons: FIrst and Foremost: Blown Headgaskets. The engine was designed poorly in this respect (though it was designed very very well in all other respects) the Head Gasket is the Achilles heal of this car, and the head was under-torqued from the factory and the coolant lines run near the head unevenly. Its a bit of a big deal if you're not apt to pull an engine apart yourself. Missing some luxury items like heated seats and nice stereo you find in luxury (this is supposed to be a luxury sport, right?) There is very little room for speakers (4" all around with shallow mounting depth for the pre-91 supras) Rear wheel drive is useless in the snow (hence my quattro winter vehicle) This car is get
Overall review: great fun. out of all the real japanese sports cars i've owned or driven (300zx, RX7, 3000gt, 240sx, older supras) the MK3 supra is definitely the most fun. This engine can easily be built up to 300hp without too much expense, and well over 450hp with some serious work. Even though i blew a head gasket, blew coolant lines, etc., i would buy another, and another, if i could find them in good condition with low miles. I only wish i had gotten the targa-top with leather interior 91+ (or sunroof on the 92) anything after '89... if it has a turbo, is worth not passing up.

SUPRA POWER~ by CL-Navi Los Angeles on 08/22/2005. Trim: 1989 Toyota Supra Base, Owned 5 years.
Pros: It's unique! You just dont see many of these on the road anymore, not to mention one in good condition. The car looks awesome from the front. Old cars like this starts to shine with their style. Great car for the driver, many interior options that you dont see in old cars, such as cruise control, climatic control, and 8 way power seat. Targa top is lotta fun. The car feels steady. The interior trim is of good quality for a car this age.Strong and smooth transmission and engine(except the head gasket) outlast the life of car.Hey this car is the daddy of the sick MKIV twin turbos!
Cons: The rear bumper design looks a little too high.Overall the car doesnt look very aerodynamic and u sit kinda high compare to other sports cars, even after lowering. There's no ABS and airbag in this production year which is unfortunate. This car's heavy and if ur tire is bad it skids and wheel locks easy.Stock wheels are ugly and oem speakers are weak with no bass. The BFG's definitely problematic, and if u are not into checking ur car regularly then this car isnt for u.Rear seats are small with little headroom.Depending on ur vehicle condition, this car might not have enough torque left after all these years to support A/C and fast acceleration.Needs longer brake distance due to its weight
Overall review: I wouldnt recommend this car to female drivers because it's not very comfortable, the interior gets noisy (due to its age) and it requires a lot of care.I personally had two blown head gaskets with this car before so now i check the coolant level every morning before i leave for work. Car has been very reliable ever since with little or no coolant level decrease.Change thermostat and radiator cap to make sure they work well.If you are looking for performance this car is not really there.I am sure the turbo versions are better but they also require a lot more maintance. Basically a daily driver with excellent old styling, is rare to find and it gets you from point A to B with lotta fun if you put love in it such as a stronger speaker system, nice looking wheels, tints, paint job, reconditioned interior and with the targa top off. This car is feeling a lot more like a collector's car than anything else to me coz it's my 1st car.Dont get me wrong, my whole family and I LOVE IT

CozyMoze's 1989 Toyota Supra by CozyMoze from Phoenix Arizona on 06/29/2004. Trim: 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Very rare to find. Overall a great car. Always asked about my car and asked if I want to sell it. My car looks great for its age, for it was very well taken care of.
Cons: More HP would have been nice, but I can always tune it! Wish they gave the red a clearcoat.
Overall review: I just love it. This car has been in the family since day one and has been well taken care of. In turn, it runs great, looks great, and have never had any problems with it. As of today, it still has not even reached 60K for a 89'! I am very glad I stole this from my Mom....er... I mean bought it from her!

Pure Blooded Sportcar. by Jeff on 06/24/2004. Trim: 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great Acceleration, comfortable seating and controls, true sportcar design.
Cons: watch out for Blown Head Gaskets around 130K miles. :( Toyota should be held responsible for their under-torqued head.
Overall review: This is a beautiful, fun to drive, comfortable race car. you can feel the 250lb-ft of torque throw you back into your comfortable, adjustable seat. overall great car.
