Subee

Trim: 1999 Subaru Forester L, Owned 5 years.

Pros:
Great for winter driving on the roads of Montana... the AWD is great.
Cons:
Lack of cupholders... the main one is right over all of the air gauges-not the nicest looking vehicle on the road, but the reliability definitely makes it grow on you.
Overall review:
I do love my Subee... My first car, I'll drive it until it dies!

Very reliable

Pros:
This vehicle is by far, the most reliable vehicle I've owned. It just keeps running. You can bet this car will take me to where I want to go. MPG is 27 on the average (mine is a 5 speed stick) and the AWD comes in very handy.
Cons:
Yes it is not the prettiest, not the most comfortable & not the nicest looking.
Overall review:
Real work horse.

OK for short trips.
by Mark Mansfield, OH on 02/12/2003.
Trim: 1999 Subaru Forester L, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
Great acceleration and braking and handling for a mid size SUV.
Cons:
Window trim fell off, inside trim is loose and noisily squeaks, cheap. No good cup holders for front. Remote door locks broke, after 55,000 miles rear axle bearings broke, dealer said they only had 3 year/ 35,000 warranty.
Overall review:
Its good for the winter on short trips, I hope there isn't any more broken driveline items in the future. I'll get a car my next vehicle, the squeaky interior panels are very annoying.

What a stinker!!
by Bad Back in Montreal, Qc. on 09/15/2002.
Trim: 1999 Subaru Forester Base, Owned 3 years.

Pros:
Great size, great in snow and good clearance, good cargo, BUT>>> Not enough to make up for bad quality interior and an uncomfortable and unsafe drive.
Cons:
So much has literally fallen off my vehicle!! : The windshield plastic trim, the carpet holder, the inside of the vents, the rear bumber step, the front mud guard, what next!! ? The up-keep is so expensive..the brakes are terrible and uncomfortable, as are the seats, the car rattles and shakes. The acceleration isn't enough to be safe on highway passing. Try the new one, it seems like they've improved the handling.. but the inside hasn't changed... look at the CR-V instead or go for the Outback.
Overall review:
Again, quality on the inside is low.... everything is breaking, the drive is uncomfortable from the seats to the handling. PEUUWW!!
Never again. I LOVE the Outback, but won't go back to the Forester.

Pros:
DRIVEABILITY
Cons:
A BIT TOO MUCH ON GAS. IS IT
BECAUSE OF AWD?
Overall review:
MOST RELIABLE SO FAR
