Subaru's Most Exotic Car Ever !! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/10/2005. Trim: 1995 Subaru SVX LSi AWD, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: For one the styling !!! Timeless. I have wanted an SVX for years, but I could either could not find one or find one in my price range. She handles great, the acceleration is about average, yet off the line she is great. Smooth engine, quiet cockpit, seats are comfortable, just a fun car to drive. I am not disappointed. The reliability of these cars is questionable at best. When I bought her, she needed a power steering pump, which I replaced with a rebuilt for $100.00, 30 minute job. Parts in general are inexpensive if you shop around, except for the tranny. Hey, I got a 10 year old car with 72K miles for $2,000.00 from an Acura dealer. How much more positive is that?
Cons: Cons, well whether real or imagined, the tranny is cause for concern in all SVX's. The reputation is not the greatest. Think of it this way, if you owned a Lambo or a BMW M3, you would not question the reliability.
Overall review: This is one fun car to drive. Yes she is heavy, but with the speed sensitive steering and rocket-like performance you don't even feel it. Where you feel it is on the road, you feel stable and safe. If you buy one knowing her faults and anticipate the possible problems, then you can never be unhappy with your decision to buy. The pluses out-weight the negative by a large margin. Be smart when you buy one and make sure you have a competent mechanic to fix the tranny and wheel bearings. You can pretty much do everything else yourself. Replacing the rotors and pads is 15 minutes a side with minimal tools. New rotors and pads will set you back $300.00 for all four wheels, not bad at all.

The Gentleman's Sportscar by svtscottie on 03/16/2005. Trim: 1995 Subaru SVX L AWD coupe, Owned 10 years.
Pros: Performance, Handling, Luxury all in one!
Cons: Transmission problems are VERY common due to inadequate factory fluid cooling, this risk can be greatly reduced by installing a transmission cooler, other common problems are warped rotors, and rear wheel bearings.
Overall review: Great car, sleek styling, torqe that will put you in your seat, amazing freeway car. Definately worth a look!!!

Sweet, unique car by Tim, Illinois on 05/31/2003. Trim: 1995 Subaru SVX LSi AWD, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Who can argue with the advance styling even by todays standards. The car does get a lot of looks and questions about it and its awesome styling. It is super smooth and very quiet even with the windows down.
Cons: It is a heavy car.
Overall review: The car is great if your a person who likes the unusual. I love the vehicle and the way it performs.
