repair & maintenance costs can be on the high side
Overall review:
This is a car that will give many years of pleasure & fun, which most cars don't deliver for the long haul.

Pros:
Always a hoot to drive. Doesn't seem to wear out or loose it's snazz. Great way to start and end the business day. Skip the C-2 and buy the C-4. It is well worth it.
Cons:
Kids outgrow the jump seats too quickly. Need to buy gas from a Chevron station that pumps a lot of super high octane gas. Fitted luggage should be supplied with car at delivery. Traffic ticket magnet. Needs more sneeky cubby holes to hide small items from view.
Overall review:
My daily driver for the past six years. Almost 200k miles on the ticker. 100% reliable as opposed to my partners Vette that can't stay out of the shop. Still possible to get awsome G-Loads cornering at autocross events and backroads and etc. Handles better than expected in foul weather. (Mine is a C-4 and I switch tires in the fall and spring.)

Driving tells a thousand stories
by Andrew on 10/19/2002.
Trim: 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Coming from a long line of racing history, Porsche 993 is by far the most practical yet highly performance oriented machine. A driver will instanantly feel the confidence of driving the moment it accelerates. Power transition is precise yet forgiving. A true way to appreciate this vehicle is to push it to the limit in a race track or highway. The suspension of this car exceeds one's expectation. With its unmistakable appearance, the last year of this air-cooled 911 will remain Porsche enthusiasts' favorite years to come.
Cons:
One has to compromise the relatively limited cargo space and interior design for the unmatched performance this vehicle delivers.
The central security system can sometimes too unforgiving, yet
again this can also be construed as a product of the fine German
insight in building the ultimate sports car.
Overall review:
excellence in performance and styling.

All weather cabrio
by Henk from Rotterdam, the Netherlands on 09/29/2002.
Trim: 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa, Owned 4 years.

Pros:
Sound, vision, smell. The glass roof gives you that ultimate feeling of low flying a Frati designed airplane.
Cons:
Wind leaks around the windows and roof. Wind deflector can get noisy when driving over 200 kph. Breaklight spoiler. Finish of roof (it is obviously a cabrio with hardtop).
Overall review:
A car that really shines during long pan-european trips. Besides the problems with the wind deflector this porsche has been the most reliable car I've ever owned.
