Black over Tan C4S - Classic!
by Happy 993 owner! on 08/28/2011.
Trim: 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Classic 911 "wide-hip" styling that still turns heads 15 years after it rolled off the assembly line. Combines superb handling with "Oh, my goodness" acceleration. Engine exhaust note is pure music. I am a big guy - 6' 4", 200+ pounds - and I fit very comfortably in the driver's seat. I can drive 200 miles with no aches or pains. Not a drop of oil leaking after 96k miles. Still drives better than most new cars off the lot. Everything, from the bullet-proof engine to the "bank vault" doors to the wide body look, screams quality and style. Oh, yeah. The wife likes it too!
Cons:
Took so long to find the right one. (But it was worth the wait.)
Overall review:
The new water-cooled 911s may be technically superior, but nothing looks, sounds, or drives like the 993. For every day driveability and reliability, combined with supercar performance and classic looks, nothing touches it...period. Show me another 15 year old car that still has that "new car" leather smell. If you're even thinking about a 993, do your research and do the deal. You won't be sorry. Prices are reasonable now because of the economy, but I predict serious appreciation in the next five years.

This car is a blast to drive and the engine sound is pure music.
Cons:
None
Overall review:
This is the last of the air cooled engines and is on its way to being a collector car. This
car is so much fun to drive and it's looks are the best. What a head turner this car is!

Can drive it to work on weekdays and drive to the track to race on weekends

Trim: 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, Owned 7 years.

Pros:
Driving it hard. Makes my hands sweat just thinking about driving it. Pretty fast but nothing will out corner it and the brakes are the best on any car. Timeless styling, turns heads.
Cons:
Too easy to drive very fast. Cost of replacement parts.
Overall review:
Great car last of the aircooled breed. The engine noise is music.

Pros:
exterior fit and finish. power!! interior fit and finish. easy to drive fast
Cons:
not enough leg room for us 6' plus. hard to drive slow
Overall review:
when you make a great car it never goes out of style. Instead it just gets better. This is the ultimate in simplistic style, with reliable awsome power and comfort. A great cruiser, racer or work taxi. Better yet--an adult mobile theme park!!!!

The Finest Sports Car
by Will in SLC on 06/11/2006.
Trim: 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera coupe, Owned 3 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Everything except the seats, which are so-so. This is a sports car: one should not expect seating for four, a large trunk, or amazing gas mileage. Seating is comfortable for two; the 'jump seats' behind the front ones fold flat to provide more cargo space, and I get 25.5 miles per gallon on the road at high speed with the air conditioning on. NOTHING can outcorner this car. It has the best brakes on the planet. While some will out accelerate it on the straight pavement, I can beat virtually anything on a road race course. If you want a 'dragster,' get one of those silly things with bicycle front wheels and eat Corvettes every day - in a straight line only, of course.
Cons:
The standard seats are fine for short trips. They are also probably fine for very thin people on longer jaunts. I understand that the optional Sport Seats are much better for an average driver over the long run.
Overall review:
This is the top end.
