The Owner-Pleasing 993

Pros:
Great car to drive - a real pleasure and far better than the older 911 I used to own. The 993's classic lines are equally great and I think it will be a popular car for Porsche fans for many years. My exhaust system produces some of the most wonderful sounds on the road so the fun of driving is enhanced even more.
Cons:
Maintenance is fairly constant. I bought the car based upon its low mileage and reputation for not requiring constant attention. That hasn't happened as I have had sun-roof, window and air conditioning problems plus service on the Tiptronic. All of those might be the result of the way the prior owner handled the car but I supposedly have all maintenance records and no sign of the problems I have had
Overall review:
If you buy it, you'll love it. Just be sure to keep some money in reserve for the inevitable items that will need attention and if married, either forewarn your spouse of the probable cost to maintain or buy her something equally wonderful to distract him/her.

Classic Porsche Design

Pros:
Stiff body and precise handling. Fit, finish and quality is very high. Excellent acceleration from 4,000 rpm and up. Compared to the older models, this motor has excellent low end torque. Classic design...will never go out of style in my opinion. The 996 don't match up in quality. Maybe the 997 will.
Cons:
Not the most comfortable touring car, but then again, I didn't buy it for cruising! High cost of maintenance.
Overall review:
If you want the adrenal rush, this is it.

Pros:
Awesome power. Especially with B&B triflow exhaust upgrade. Best in style of 911 model. Corners like a slot car. Great feel on the road, in total control.
Cons:
Power top is rather difficult. Needs boot to keep from destroying the liner.
Overall review:
Fantastic, well engineered, piece of machinery!!! My second Porsche, first 911. Now that I'm spoiled, I'll stay with this classic design.
