Great cruiser
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/18/2006.
Trim: 1999 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Coupe, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
One of the best touring vehicles I've driven. Decent fuel mileage, great ride and plenty of power to deal with traffic. Long haul comfort for 2. Precise steering, although a bit nose heavy and loose in rain and snow.
Cons:
Ergonomics for the window/mirror controls and locks. Second seat is for children under 90lbs.
Overall review:
An overall great car. Enjoyable to drive.

A Nice Looking Car

Pros:
Awesome styling. Mine had a sports package which included a sport skirt and a 1.5-way exhaust. Very sleek looking! =)
Cons:
It is a hard car to drive.. not very user friendly. Also the v6 doesn't really pick up a whole lot. It's okay but not what one would expect from a performance car like this. Also tight seating in the back, but that's to be expected from a sports car. The doors do swing out a bit too wide as well.. makes it hard to get out in tight spots. Some things are falling apart like the automatic windows and engine maintenance here and there, but hey.. it IS 13 years old! The radio (CD player) did take a dump. I replaced it with a JVC which doesn't work with the steering wheel controls =(
Overall review:
Overall a cool car. I get alot of compliments about the styling and how clean/fast it looks.

Pros:
Awesome styling and nice power for a V6.
Cons:
Speakers blow out easily and CD player has issues after a few years use. I've only had the car for a week bought at a used car dealership after having one owner. The guy took really good care of it. Awesome paint job (red). The guy took really good care of it, and for a 12 year old car it runs great. Sturdy... it's a machine. I get alot of head turns. Prefer the styling to the now Mustangs, Camaros, Daytonas, and Challengers which all seem to be more boxy. A+ on styling!
Overall review:
A nice looking car! Issues with the audio system though.

Best 5-speed convertable
by D on 09/17/2006.

Pros:
I love to drive my little Firebird around town and out of state. It handles wonderfully on long trips down the highways; and it gets great gas milage locally, in even the heaviest of traffic. Just when I thought owning a Firebird couldn't be any better, gas prices shot through the roof! I was able to still smile at the gas pumps, expecially at the SUV owners.
Cons:
There is the downside of not being able to run around town directly after a heavy storm. The Firebird sits low, so deep puddles can be an issue. Also, the SUV drivers cannot see you---at all. You are invisible to them no matter what the color of your car.
Overall review:
Of all the other 5-speed cars and trucks I have owned, the Firebird is the only one I haven't thought about trading in. Other than oil changes, tires, and regular maintainance, I haven't had any problems with the mechanics of this car.

Pros:
Very good performance from a six-cylinder engine.
Cons:
Made from cheaper materials, noisy on the highway.
Overall review:
Not a bad car at all, fun to drive, great to look at and catch other people's eyes.
