Won in Head-On Collision
by Cook's from Alabama on 03/27/2003.
Trim: 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport 3-door Extended, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Recently involved in a head on collision. Came out as winner. Was very impressed with lack of damage to front end. Air bags inflated as expected. Other vehicle was totalled. I have had van for over a year and love it. I'm just afraid it won't be fixed to prior condition before accident. I would recommend it highly for it's safety.
Cons:
Engine could use a little more power up hills.
Overall review:
Love it and kids love it. Very comfortable on long trips.

Great Transport
by Frank Lap Van on 07/27/2001.
Trim: 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport 3-door Extended, Owned 5 years.

Pros:
Good solid performance. Able to carry heavy loads. 4 boys in college and driven back and forth with belongings. Easily removed seats and flexibility to move back seats up. Long life on brakes, tires and other service items.
Cons:
Glass damage to windshield seems to occur easily. Many stone chips. Dealer replaced one headlight housing, but reluctant to replace 2nd headlight housing that leaked water until water touched bulb.
Overall review:
Comfortable transport for family of 6. Good performance with minimal problems. Mileage for brakes and tires in excess of 65,000 miles.

1997 pontiac transport van
by edward woodville texas on 06/18/2001.
Trim: 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport 3-door, Owned 4 years.

Pros:
vehicle is attractive but minor problems exist that dealers are unable to solve. van has 100k miles and other than fuel filter/pump issues it has never given us a problem.
Cons:
The electrics specifically for the right rear have malfunctioned since new. When braking all lights lite in rear. ABS light stays on and owners manual says to stop turn off ignition and restart for solution.
The headlight covers came unglued within the first 6 months and the dealer refuses to sell anything but the entire light unit rather than the lens cover. The right rear electric window will not open or when open will not close completed as those stuck. Again minor problems not enought to keep van in the shop but just enough to make driving less that pleasureable
Overall review:
Great looking and driving van.

Cowboy mini van
by Blondie from Dayton Ohio on 05/17/2001.
Trim: 1997 Pontiac Trans Sport 4-Door Extended, Owned 4 years.
1
Pros:
Easy to drive, easy to get in and out of, plenty of room.
Cons:
Have had some brake problems and the AC is not cooling like it did when it was new, may need recharged.
Overall review:
You do get spoiled by the two sliding doors and the one on the passinger side is a power sliding door.
