Cheap aluminum head gasket serious problem in these cars, no recalls cost about 700.00 or more to replace mine went out at 36,000 miles just intime for the warranty to end go figure,,also dash viberates, always has.

Love the car, hate the resale value

Pros:
Great car, only minor problems in the 3 years of ownership. It rides great, low exterior noise, and acceleration and braking are acceptable.
Cons:
The value of these vehicles has tanked over the last three years. I don't exactly know why, but after purchasing in '99 for $16,000 the trade in blue-book value has plummeted to only $4600 in three years.
Overall review:
Great Car, Just wish it would have held its value better.

a competent car for the money

Pros:
body style is very sleek. despite others opinoins, I've found it a "breeze" on long trips. nice basic sound system. huge trunk and really decent back seat room.
Cons:
four banger just gets the job done. (for those of you who want zip, look at the V-6 stratus) alot of road noise, even after new tires.
Overall review:
A good all around vehicle for the money. More room inside and out than an Accord for thousands less (yes, the Accord is a nicer car, but, were back to that money thing again). Not a hot rod and dosn't pretend to be. 24 MPG average, not terrible for the size. I have put 20,000 miles on ours with no mechanical issues to date (60,000 on it now). All Professional reviews say this is a competent car and I agree.
