First Car - New in '99 by K from ON on 03/03/2008. Trim: 1999 Plymouth Neon Competition sedan, Owned 9 years.
Pros: Great mileage. Interior is fine, doesn't feel 'cheap' aka nice enough fabric on doors and such. I liked the stereo controls (manual, easy to adjust while driving), seats are pretty comfortable and is roomy for an average female, 60/40 split back seat very handy for moving.
Cons: Massive oil leak due to known problem from head gasket (my driveway is Destroyed), problems in shifting gears (automatic) if you shift too quickly from 3rd to 4th. Window seal is terrible: leaks, noisy, super easy to break into (has happened 3x), and occasionally the wheels that grip to move the window will cut into the glass somewhat leaving a scratch. Sunroof stopped working just after warranty ended (w/ low use), random problems with O2 sensor and sensor lights. Brakes squeal a bit (are ridiculously loud in the summer after rain or high humidity!) Sluggish to accelerate. Seal around rear lights is poor. Intermittent wiring problems w/ factory speakers. Wheel stiff & hard to turn. AC probs
Overall review: You do get what you pay for, I bought this new at $18k 9 years ago. It was great when I bought it, very handy, roomy, good mileage for a student with lots of moving back and forth. Had a bit of kick at first, but everything quickly deteriorated a few months after the warranty was up. The oil leak is atrocious. Rather than fix it for $900+, I opted to let it drip slowly out until at about 8 years old when it got a lot faster and started going through about 3L/week. For less money you should get a year or two old Corolla or something reliable.

My little Red Plymouth by David in Minnesota on 10/25/2002. Trim: 1999 Plymouth Neon Highline sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I'm 6 feet plus and there is plenty of room for me. It's a peppy engine (however 2nd gear is a bit doggy) Otherwise I have had no problems as of yet. I bought it used too !
Cons: A/C and the Automatic doesn't mix very well, otherwise nothing to get wacked out about.Defrost system needs improvement.
Overall review: It's a cool little Car. For people who want a small Car with some zippiness it will be a fine Car. I've read the other reviews on here and if you know how to take care of a Car, it is a reliable little guy.My friend has a Saturn and this is way better than that.It borders on Honda quality and mine rides much better, not nearly as stiff feeling.

Da Bomb Azz Car by A CarPoint Consumer on 06/21/2001. Trim: 1999 Plymouth Neon Highline coupe, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Tight little car that I use to surprise and surpass my competition. Tear cars up on back roads due to the incredible suspension. Love to take sharp curves twice the recomended speed limit even faster depending where, and down shifting to accelerate out of curve. Just the feeling, unexplainable!!
Cons: Drink holders are a little awkward but perfect size.
Overall review: This car is awsome for anyone who has the need for speed. "Mean" looking front end on the ones with the scoop.

Never again Neon by Jacky, Suffolk, Virginia on 05/03/2001. Trim: 1999 Plymouth Neon Competition sedan, Owned 2 years.
Pros: It gets me were I need to go. It is Plum Purple
Cons: It will end up in the junk yard at 100,000 miles. Chrysler is not good to work with. I have had a lot of cosmetic problems when I bought the car and some motor problems and the car only had 19000 miles on it.
Overall review: It is a good car for a older person that does little traveling... a teen who wants a cheap but new car. It gets me to work and back but i would NEVER buy another one.
