The Beginner's Car by McLovin on 09/12/2007. Trim: 1996 Plymouth Breeze, Owned 10 years.

Pros: The Performance, acceleration, braking, ect.
Cons: The rear window, can't see out of it.
Overall review: I think it would be a great first car and i would recommend it to others, but it could use some work. If you dont want the Plymouth Breeze try for the Dodge Stratus, it's basically the same car.

Great car.. and a note to buyers of any car by ptsWolfman on 05/02/2007. Trim: 1996 Plymouth Breeze, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Dodge characteristics -- Meaning it is large on the inside but small on the outside. My Breeze is a 2.0L mated to a 5spd transmission. Compared to the Neon I replaced, the acceleration is very smooth and gradual. This car has the same 'speed' as the smaller cars but was engineered better so that while it doesn't feel like you are racing, your acceleration is right up to what you would hope for. Interior space is a lot more than I expected. The seats are very comfortable and the rest of the ergonomics fit well.
Cons: As this is a 1996 car I would have rather seen the 2.0L DOHC as a base engine. The 2.0L SOHC @ 132HP is fine and works well I do think it would have done better w/ the 150HP DOHC. Perhaps upgrading to a more open exhaust would allow better airflow and hence make the car a little peppier.
Overall review: What I wish people would understand while they write thier major complaints and say these cars are JUNK and avoid them etc etc (or any car for that matter) is that when you buy a car USED from a previous owner - do NOT instantly blame the car for any issues which may come up. What should be first considered is how the previous owner took care of the car. Did they change the oil ever 3k-5k miles? (if there is black gunk pouring out of a tailpipe, my guess would be no). If the transmission is failing, did the previous owner ever change the fluid? Etc... I have been a Dodge/Chrysler owner for over 10 years. Like all cars they have thier "quirks" but all in all, Dodge has made excellent products for a generally cheaper price than most competitors. As with any car, if you (or the previous owner) have not taken care of it, it will be most likely not be a reliable vehicle.

Breeze Please by Law Student from Pittsburgh on 06/23/2005. Trim: 1996 Plymouth Breeze, Owned 5 years.

Pros: Not too big, but not small either. Has a nice looking appearance and is very comfortable to take long road trips in.
Cons: Needed a bigger engine for the size of the car. Sometimes have trouble accelerating up to speed to merge onto highway. Once you get momentum though, you don't notice at all though and can keep up with other cars on the road.
Overall review: This was the first vehicle that I ever owned. I bought it in 2000 with 98,000 miles on it. I now have over 150,000 miles on it. In the 5 years that I have owned it, I have had to replace the brakes one time. The mechanic who replaced them said they were the original brakes and were surprised that they lasted to 135,000 miles. I pay to get it through inspection every year, but other than that, my only expense on the car has been the gas that I have put in the tank. THE ULTIMATE FIRST CAR FOR HIGHSCHOOL OR COLLEGE STUDENTS!! :-)

The Little Engine That Could by Kiel on 12/17/2004. Trim: 1996 Plymouth Breeze, Owned 1 year.

Pros: My car has over 120,000 miles on it and I've never had any major problems. Just keep up on your routine matainence and you will enjoy this car a long time.
Cons: The acceleration is a little weak, probably due to the large size of the vehicle compared to the small 4-cyl 2.0 liter engine.
Overall review: Fantastic car. It's taken me from the mountains of vermont to the streets of manhatten with no problems ever (and on only one tank of gas!) Very roomy and perfect for a guy who likes to travel like me. :)

Awesome First Car by Tanya from Maine on 05/17/2004. Trim: 1996 Plymouth Breeze, Owned 8 years.
1
Pros: Stylish, practical, not too big, but not too small. Even a little sporty.
Cons: Head gasket did go, but only after over 100,000 miles.
Overall review: It's a great car. I bought the car new, still have it 8 years later and it's still going strong. I always took care of it (ie. oil changes, etc.) so that's what I credit for the good luck. I would recommend it to anyone. It also drives great in Maine winters!
