Very nice ride for the price (used) by Joe on 11/12/2008. Trim: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4-door, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Great SUV and fun to drive. Handling, traction, towing, comfort, style are all very good.

Cons: Tends to have problems with rubber bushing in the rear. This can run around $400 to fix. Power is a bit low but really not that bad.

Overall review: We love this SUV and for the price you simply cannot beat it! Even with fuel price fluxtating it simply doe snot make sense to spend 30K on an SUV to gain 5 to 10 more miles to the gallon. 30K is allot of gas!

Love this Truck! by Bob from the vegetable aisle on 10/28/2005. Trim: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder XE 4-door 4WD, Owned 4 years.

Pros: Great Styling, Wonderful in the snow, Great on long trips, Can haul lots of cargo with seats folded.

Cons: The throwout bearing in the transmission went at about 80,000 miles costing around a lot to get it fixed as you have to dissasemble most of the drivetrain to get to the part. I would have expected it to last longer than that. It is also unmercifully slow and gets poor gas milage. The new ones have more power and get better mileage. Otherwise, it has been very durable and a great truck.

My worst purchase by Skully from Regina, Sk. on 03/16/2003. Trim: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4WD, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The styling is very well done. Engine power is adequate. Ride is exceptional.

Cons: I have had many problems since the 100,000 km mark. The throttle plate had to be replaced. 1 month later the intake plenum cracked. The brake backing plates and A/C pulley had to be replaced. And now the transmission has failed and needs to be overhauled.

Overall review: Very poor reliability. Do not purchase unless you have a large bank account.
