Very nice ride for the price (used) by Joe on 11/12/2008. Trim: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4-door, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Great SUV and fun to drive. Handling, traction, towing, comfort, style are all very good.
Cons: Tends to have problems with rubber bushing in the rear. This can run around $400 to fix. Power is a bit low but really not that bad.
Overall review: We love this SUV and for the price you simply cannot beat it! Even with fuel price fluxtating it simply doe snot make sense to spend 30K on an SUV to gain 5 to 10 more miles to the gallon. 30K is allot of gas!

DO-IT-ALL MID-SIZE SUV by MIKE - PORTLAND, OR on 02/16/2003. Trim: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4-door, Owned 6 years.
Pros: OWNED SIX YRS / 75K AND NEVER A PROBLEM. NEVER BEEN STUCK NOR HAD CHAINS ON. SUFFICIENT POWER TO HAUL WIFE, TWO LABS, AND CAMPING GEAR THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS. WOULD TOW BOAT OR SMALL CAMPER NICELY BUT WOULD OPT FOR V8 SUV FOR ANYTHING LARGER. EXCELLENT RIG-VERY RELIABLE!
Cons: SAME MPG AS FRIENDS V8 TAHOE?!! ALTHOUGH, BETTER MPG AT 75-80 THAN AT 65. FACTORY CD UNIT IS CRAP (BUT SIX SPEAKERS ARE GREAT). TWO FRIENDS HAVE HAD PATHS, 89 AND 94, AND ALL HAVE HAD THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAK AT 30-40K. NISSAN STILL HAS NOT FIXED THIS, BUT DID GET 100 MO EXT. WAR. FOR REPLACEMENT.
Overall review: WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMMEND FOR ANY BODY WITHOUT FAMILY AS ROOM DISAPPEARS QUICKLY. AFTER WEEK-LONG FISHING TRIP TO REMOTE CENTRAL OREGON, FATHER-IN-LAW TRADED IN HIS MB (SEDAN) FOR INFINITI QX4 (ALSO HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED FOR THOSE WHO WANT A MORE REFINED RIG) AND LOVES IT (YOU'RE WELCOME, INFINITI). READ THE REVIEWS AND YOU WILL SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVES THEIR PATHFINDER!!

Love this Truck! by Bob from the vegetable aisle on 10/28/2005. Trim: 1997 Nissan Pathfinder XE 4-door 4WD, Owned 4 years.
Pros: Great Styling, Wonderful in the snow, Great on long trips, Can haul lots of cargo with seats folded.
Cons: The throwout bearing in the transmission went at about 80,000 miles costing around a lot to get it fixed as you have to dissasemble most of the drivetrain to get to the part. I would have expected it to last longer than that. It is also unmercifully slow and gets poor gas milage. The new ones have more power and get better mileage. Otherwise, it has been very durable and a great truck.
Overall review: Great Truck, Excellent Purchase.
