My Good "RED" Nissan Quest.

Trim: 1996 Nissan Quest GXE, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros:
I have driven my Nissan Quest for 12 years with the usual maintenence as recommended by the dealer. This van can't be beat for handling the road in bad weather conditions such as deep, slushy snow and ice. The seats are comfortable for long highway trips and the configuration for seven passengers or carrying large loads with the seats down is very good. For a large vehicle, the gas mileage is quite good. After tune-up, the Quest will give you 27 miles per gallon.
Cons:
Nothing. This car has met all our needs.
Overall review:
The Nissan Quest GXE is an excellent family vehicle. The car will transport passengers and all your shopping bags and has even hauled home drywall!

Gremlins in the Locking System
by Mom, I'm late for practice. on 09/20/2005.
Trim: 1996 Nissan Quest XE, Owned 7 years.

Pros:
Wonderfully dependable. Engine is great. Great zip for a mini-van. Good mileage. Absolutely no major maintenance issues in 6 yrs.
Cons:
NEVER leave your keys in the car and close your unlocked doors because the automatic locks have a mind of their own. They jump from unlocked to locked for unknown reasons, sometimes while you're driving...sometimes when you simply close the doors. Gremlins. Thankfully, small children can climb through the back hatch and retrieve keys.
The myriad plastic latches tend to snap. I now have pliers in the car at all times to move seats, etc. The side door window latch is a joke. The door controls for the windows and auto locks tend to just fall away into the door. I can auto-lock the car from one side, and operate the windows from the other side. This requires a cooperative passenger.
Overall review:
An excellent choice if you need a reliable minivan. Comfortable to drive, but not enough leg room for the 36" inseamed male driver of the household. Kids love the backseat air vents and the ability to adjust the radio from the middle seat.

Poor quality
by Joe from Virginia on 08/18/2005.
Trim: 1996 Nissan Quest XE, Owned 7 years.

Pros:
I liked the styling which is different from the average looking van.
Cons:
Poor quality!!! That's what you get when you mix a good company like Nissan with the Ford Company. The car drove well the first couple of years then problems started. The door locks went bad. Then the paint started to come off. Then the air condition completely died and needed $1000 to repair and finally the engine died with only 70,000 miles. I had to donate it to charity.
Overall review:
It's a pure Ford with a Nissan label. I don't know what Nissan was thinking getting involved with Ford. The result are a poor quality van. I hope Nissan will discontinue dealing with the Ford designers and make the car themselves.
