1999 Eclipse GS-T by Ryan from Spokane on 03/23/2012. Trim: 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The 4G63T powerplant - over engineered from the factory is legendary for its responsiveness to simple bolt on modifications and resilience to abuse. Performance/acceleration is excellent, with a pretty wide powerband except for low end torque. The sweet sound of air being sucked in through the filter as the turbo enters boost is exhilarating. Handling is overall very good with this vehicle..mine being mildly lowered is responsive and sticks to the road very well even with all season tires. The styling of the vehicle is beautiful and excellent. The black/tan interior has amazing appeal, and is a drivers oriented cockpit. The exterior is very functional, and of course, amazing to look at.
Cons: Traction..with a mildly modified GS-T putting down even just some of the available power in first gear isn't going to happen. In second gear I generally just get torque steer (which is fun) unless going up hills or if the road is less than perfect, then they will spin. Some interior plastic pieces are cheap.
Overall review: Awesome car, I've had it for 6 months and has given me no issues, except for withdrawals from not driving it. Take care of your car, stay on top of the maintenance, and your car should treat you well. More importantly, if you're looking to buy a reliable and decent DSM, be sure to research how well it appears to have been maintained. And also, the less modifications on the vehicle, generally the more reliable it will be, assuming maintenance has been performed on time and properly. These cars are not without their faults, definitely invest some time researching these vehicles and their issues before you buy one. I love my Eclipse GS-T, it runs excellent, transmission shifts smoothly, everything works, it is exhilarating to drive and plan to have it for many years.

Great car !!!!!! by Ron (DOC) Columbia S.C. on 07/06/2010. Trim: 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: Its looks & reliability (216 k) have owned since 1999 eleven years next month . I have a 5 speed original clutch still doing fine . I kept the maintenance up and if you can find one with good maintenance , I recommend buying it . Great gas millage , 32-35 Hwy .
Cons: Has a 2.0 (4 cylinder) . Not much off the line however it will go well over 110 on the highway . And when it does it sinks low and rides & handles well . Very low front end , looks great , but you must always watch it (bottoms out easily) .
Overall review: Great car ! I kept it up and as many have stated it will turn heads even (11) years old . Great looks if you can find one kept up (buy it) .

The Ultimate Truck by Optional on 07/30/2002. Trim: 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS Spyder, Owned 2 years.
1
Pros: Interior is cramped. Plastic parts on interior look cheap and fragile. Very little interior space. Roof top looks cheap and fragile. Interior doesn't allow you to move around. Gear stick is placed right in front of CD-Player, thus you have to put the car in gear every time you want to change a CD. Interior is too dang small for a car of that size
Cons: Very nice exterior design. Good overall performance.
Overall review: Great car if you like exterior looks and don't mind being crammed in the front seats. Back seats are for groceries only.

Pros: this car is very slick looking and the girls i know love it. The way it looks the cheap price
Cons: the problems i had with it to name a few the annoying hissing and screeching sounds coming from under the hood The cheap work they put into the car
Overall review: The outside of the car looks great but once you get in you notice how small it is what is the point of even putting in a backseat when no one can fit in it i thought this car was gonna be great and i couldnt wait to get it now i cant wait to get rid of it
