Pros: Excellent size, put over 70000 miles in 2 years and never been in the shop. Excellent ride. Better than any other SUV in its class and price range
Cons: Could use a V8
Overall review: Recommended to anyone who wants a dependable, reliable, and inexpensive SUV

The best of it's generation by Mountain man from Colorado on 12/19/2008. Trim: 1997 Mitsubishi Montero SR, Owned 7 years.
Pros: The Monty's ability to handle anything from 14,000 foot mountains, busting snow drifts, or getting a coffee while hauling 7 people. What a fantastic SUV. If you examine it carefully, you will find a myriad of engineering details that enhance the Montero's abilities. I have had this truck for 8 years now have really grown to appreciate just how carefully Mitsubishi thought it out when they designed it. If you are looking for a truly off road SUV that can do it all, the Montero SR is the SUV for you.
Cons: Not much; maybe replacing the spark plugs could have been a little easier.
Overall review: This is, in my humble option, the very best of it's generation. I have examined the Four Runner, the Path Finder, Range Rover, etc... and the only vehicles that come close are the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Range Rover. The others fall short of the engineering excellent that is reflected in the Montero's outstanding abilities. This is the one SUV I would trust not matter what. Given the current price of these excellent vehicles, look no further and buy one.

excellent suv by Robert on 07/20/2007. Trim: 1997 Mitsubishi Montero LS, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: very reliable car. has 190k miles on it and still runs like new. good turn radius for such a big car. excellent off-road capabilities. excellent driving feel, like a powerful truck. seats are comfortable. ample leg room in the rear. 10-disc cd changer is excellent. the 4wd transfer case is very useful
Cons: is it a little high, accessories are breaking after 10 years, but thats normal. 50-50 split bench in the 2nd row is annoying. 3rd row seats are folded up, instead of down. car is noisy sometimes. another 30 hp would be great. little leg room in the front
Overall review: an excellent car none the less. very reliability. if you love the outdoors, this is the car for you!
