luxury at minimal cost by senior from omaha on 03/23/2013. Trim: 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis GS, Owned 8 years.
Pros: have owned since 2005 with 62k. now has 100k. minimal repairs. needs window regulator. runs like new. plastic intake manifold replaced in 2005. bad gas mileage. uses 1 qt. of oil every 750 miles. may need valve guide seals replaced. does not leak oil. may burn a little. runs to good to even diagnose the problem. best car i have ever owned. traction control is a plus.
Overall review: best car i have owned

RED RIDER by Red rider from Baytown on 03/26/2009. Trim: 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis GS, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: My Grand Marquis has made so many trips from Houston, TX to the panhandle of Florida and has never ever left me stranded and it now has over 200,000 miles on it. When our girls were little and "Santa" would have his sack full it always would fit into the giant size trunk along with all our luggage too. It is a large car but very comfortable and gets great gas mileage too for a car that size. It is a 1996 but it still gets 25/26 miles per gallon. The AC unit works wonderful and does a great job cooling even the backseat riders.
Cons: Because my car is old is does lack a few of the more modern items like a cd changer which the newer models do have. Most of all I'd love for it to have the heated seats.
Overall review: We currently aren't making as many long distance trips now as we have in years past. But my Grand Marquis has never let me down or left me stranded. It is indeed a comfortable riding car and has made many long distance trips. People are just so surprised how large the trunk is too and how wonderful the AC unit still is working so well after all these years. Nope, i am not ready for a new car just yet.

Strong performer by tom from chitown on 11/12/2007. Trim: 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis LS, Owned 4 years.
Pros: 155K miles, excellent engine. Need some front end and brakes work. Front end lower to the ground, and steering is somewhat sloppy, but I have not taken this car in for regular repair, overdue. An excellent car. This car should easily get over 200K. Need to replace window regulator, and interior quality a bit to be desired at this mileage, but still quite good.
Cons: Not too many. Looser steering.
Overall review: Not many cars can perform this well, or at all, at high mileage.
