Not Impressed by Cris from Tallahassee, FL on 05/01/2001. Trim: 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor, Owned 3 years.
Pros: The top (of course), acceleration
Cons: Interior quality, storage space, inability to get it fixed.
Overall review: DO NOT ever wreck this car! I was rear-ended 3 months ago and have had it in the body shop four times. No one knows how to fix the top correctly, including the dealership. The dash and center console are coated with a gray rubbery substance that is coming off, showing the black plastic underneath. Also, the cigarette lighter is placed in an odd location in the center console, and has also been broken. All in all, Mercedes should be ashamed for charging this much for what is a crummy car with a cool top.

New Buddy Baby Benz.. by muggs on 05/29/2013. Trim: 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK230 Kompressor, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Beautiful lines, especially in black with the roof down. Unique on the road - draws a lot of looks. Reasonably quick, handles well, but not like my modified '92 Miata - the Benz feels heavier of course, and not nearly as nimble and stable while cornering as the Mazda. Gotta love the top - draws kids I've found. They call it "Transformer". Not sure what that means....
Cons: Nothing yet - haven't had it long. Exterior paint seems easily chipped - trip to the car spa will fix that.... Will surely experience astromonical Mercedes maintenance cost, but that's the price I guess....
Overall review: I love this new addition. Fun to drive, good mileage, beautiful looks (with the roof down).
