A real looker but at too high a (maintenance) cost.

Pros:
One of the best looking domestic cars ever made. Stately styling always turns heads. Very aerodynamic body slices through the air at highway speeds resulting in 25+ mpg at 75 mph. My experience and message boards suggest it will not strand you on the side if the road.
Cons:
Electrical problems abound. Air suspension to blame for a poor quality ride and constant expensive repairs. Doors are so heavy the exterior door handles break. Difficult to work on. Changing the engine oil without making a mess is not possible. You will have transmission problems. Too many dealer-only parts. Engine power is not what it should be. After two years I still can't park it right because I can't see where the front of the car is.
Overall review:
A very sharp car but not worth the cost of upkeep. Would have been a good car to lease new and turn back in before the warranty expired.

I'm in love with my car

Pros:
The expressway I drive on to work everyday has
Cons:
On highway, it rides so smooth you don't realize how fast you are going.
Tends to fishtail on wet surface, but hey, if you can't handle it, shouldn't be driving this type of car.
Doesn't go in snow. Oh well.
Had to replace the front bags, some suspension problems early on, once these repaired have had no problems at all.
Overall review:
Every winter I say I'm going to sell it. Once I get a warmish day, open the windows and the sunroof and take it on the highway, I know I never will. Anyone who rides with me just can't believe how cool the interior is, and the power (I keep my cars nice).
If you want an elegant American car that looks great and handles well (on dry surface) this is it.

Pros:
Tight handling: VERY tight for an American car this big and heavy.
Fuel efficient: can get about 25MPG cruising around 70MPH
Good power and acceleration: 280hp, over 300lb-ft torque, about 7s 0-60 due to weight.
Air suspension autolevels and lowers the vehivle 1" at highway speed to improve aerodynamics and stability.
Super comfortable seats, lots of neat and luxury features, very aerodynamic - slick like a dolphin, sounds beautiful when wound out. Fun to drive, tears up any hill.
Cons:
Ford reused some plain old Ford parts but charges an arm and a leg for them. First thing that went on mine was the fuel pump. These have a reputation for air suspension leaks and there are some springs in the transmission that need to be updated or they will brake. Rear wheel drive; It would have been nice and more competitive to make these all wheel drive, but Ford wanted to reuse some pickup truck transmission. Governed at 130MPH. Crowded driver's foot well and raised area on floor by heel of driver's foot reduce comfort. The car is HUGE even though it's a coupe but the interior isn't roomy. ~3800lbs. Rear view poor due to small, high rear windshield. Premium (93) fuel REQUIRED.
Overall review:
This is a cool car for those that like to drive and like gadgets. It has sleak, aerodynamic styling. The seats are exceptionally comfortable. It has a nice ride, good handling, and good gas mileage. The engine should last but the air suspension and the transmission are expected to need work. Plus the typical starter, fuel pump, alternator repair will cost you just because it is a Lincoln. The upshot is that you can get these cars pretty cheap.

Pros:
Performance is great. Handleing is excellent. The Mark VIII is a great long distance car.
Cons:
I have replaced the spark plug wires, front air struts, air suspension compressor, and a/c compressor. I have replaced the alternator 4 times.
Overall review:
When it is good, it is very, very good, but when it breaks, its expensive.

Pros:
This baby was built to run. Extremely comfortable and fun to drive. Beautiful to look at.
Cons:
Air-ride system! Don't even bother with this year model. Had mine 3 years, and spent $1500 plus repairing this twice! Some other quality issues - door handles broke into 2 pieces, etc.
Overall review:
Great to sit in the driveway and admire, not so great to drive as your main vehicle.
