Love my Lexus!

Pros:
The body style is classic. The paint still looks wonderful. It still accelerates like the dickens, even being this old. Maintenance free.
Cons:
My only complaint is the placement of the cup holder - it is too close to the radio, which impedes channel-chasing when a drink is in the holder.
Overall review:
I love this car! After l50K+ miles, it runs like a trooper and does not look it's age! We bought it 4 yrs ago at a great price from a private owner. I hope that it runs forever as I will probably not be able to afford another.

A very good value
by dwill Virginiia on 11/03/2006.
Trim: 1995 Lexus ES 300, Owned 3 years.

Pros:
This vehicle has a strong engine, which should be expected since my car has only 97k miles. The car has been extremely reliable. The heated leather seats are extremely comfortable and provide a plush ride. Sharp turns and stops are no problem, and it accelerates quickly and powerfully. I feel confident that the drivetrain could easily achieve 250k miles.
Cons:
First and foremost, the car is almost 12 years old. It only has a cassette player, and the gas mileage could be a little better. There are small paint chips on the hood from highway pebbles, and the exterior of the muffler shows signs of some rust. The car definitely needs new struts, because the suspention is shot and it feels like I am riding on a go cart. It makes creaky sounds when I go over speed bumps. I also plan to replace the timing belt. These are routine maintenance issues that are to be expected. Since the car is older, it is the unexpected that I am worried about. Service at the Lexus dealership, while very good, is also very expensive.
Overall review:
This is a very well made, quality car. It represented a tremendous value when purchased new, especially when you consider how well it was made. It handles very well and has a comfortable interior. As long as the car is well maintained, it can still be a pleasure to drive. Repairs and maintenance can be expensive, and that is something to consider given the age of this vehicle. I would recommend buying a new Lexus or a used one that is less than 5 years old.
