wolf in sheep's clothing by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/23/2011. Trim: 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 4WD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: seats 7 while still being economical on the highway @ 20 - 21 mpg. i used to own jeeps but having our 3rd kid made that impossible so we stepped up to the montero after doing some research. i bought it at 126,000 miles and now have 162,000 miles in just over two years. i have not had any problems with the truck as of yet. the reason i owned jeeps and the reason i bought the montero is that i love to go off roading with my kids. i was a little skeptical at first but now i have plenty of confidence on the trail. it is a solidly built truck. big sunroof. and it fits 33 inch tires with no lift. overall, a comfortable truck.
Cons: very little. i tried sleeping on the seats that all fold flat to create a giant bed but it wasn't that comfy. a little under powered but acceptable. middle seat should've been a 60/40 split instead of goofy 50/50. the cup holders are a joke. wish they would have done something different with back door (too heavy and opens on side hinges). seems like back seats are more comfy than the fronts. the abs seems to be a little over active. i HATE that when you try to look up things about montero's online it always pulls up montero sports. they should have given that vehicle it's own name.
Overall review: i really like this vehicle. our family of 5 fits easily. it goes anywhere i ask it to. it doesn't care if it's the snow/ice covered highway here in colorado or the desert trails around moab, utah. reliability so far has been great. i recently took a road trip in it and got 21 mpg's with 33 inch tires. i bought it with 28 inch tires on it and recorded 26.8 mpg's on a straight shot with a good tail wind and cruise control set at 65 mph. the doors all shut tight with very little effort thanks to great fit and finish. it's built in japan which usually means it's gonna last. best of all is you can get into a truck like this for less cash than similar trucks from other makers. this thing can play civilized on week days, but is built solidly enough take abuse on the weekends and not complain (if that's your thing). this truck is prone to the wind pushing it around on the highway. overall i would recomend this truck to anyone in the used market of it's price range.

Life Partner by Adam Garou -- Philly to Charlotte on 06/19/2008. Trim: 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Seating for seven; can be driven with aggressiveness and still feel secure; the chrome middle bumpers; third row knee room and ride comfort in the back of vehicle; able to ride hard and not be affected; able to heat and cool the interior without turning on the heating/ cooling system. There are plenty of upsides to this vehicle. I took a year to do the research as to what I wanted this was the winner, have not looked back since.
Cons: Plastic bumpers that cap the chrome ones; cup holders; second row knee room; the hip room was improved on the newer models but the knee height was raised; the factory Infinity system has more volume in the back speakers not very welled balanced; the gas release lever gets stuck. The cons are very minute nothing that has to do with the performance of the vehicle.
Overall review: Looked at the Discovery SE7, Navigator, and Yukon at the time of purchasing the Endeavor. Overall better car for the space and drivability. Have only put $160 for an electronical problem into the vehicle since purchased. I was rear ended and the car that hit me hood looked like an orchordian my bumper had a 1/4" deep dent. This vehicle is well built. I saw one at a local dealer that I wanted to purchase because my wife wants one it was gone in two weeks, other SUVs aren't selling in the area. I will never give up this SUV from the look of it to the drive its great.

Best all around by CAP604 on 12/27/2007. Trim: 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 4WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: You get great off-road performance(it handled great on a motocross track) and the seating (7) of a large SUV but is as easy to park in tight spaces as a small car which makes it perfect for my wife.
Overall review: perfect for the active family with ease of driving in tight urban conditions

Comfort and Securtiy by Surefooted from Salt Lake City on 06/04/2004. Trim: 2000 Mitsubishi Montero 4WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: The size is a definate plus. It is good enough weight, hieght and length to provide some
Cons: Not too thrilled with the cup holders. The angle on the steering wheel takes a bit to get used to.
Overall review: This is an excellent and reliable vehicle. I feel very comfortable and secure when I am in my Montero, in whatever climate or location.
