Great Car, Very Euro with styling and handling

Overall review:
This car is a really great car. Mine is 9 years old and runs great. Routine prevenative maintenance and 10w-30 SYNTHETIC oil (you should always run synthetic oil with a turbo because of coking from heat) will keep it lasting.

Really dissapointed

Pros:
Like the looks, comfort and acceleration.
Cons:
It's been a maintenance nightmare. Brakes, engine mounts, radiator, and countless other things have cost us thousands in repair costs.
Overall review:
Nice looking car but I'll never buy Volvo again.

Good starter Volvo

Pros:
Good little car and have not had any problems with it. Bought it brand new and has 35K on it and nothing major. Handles very well in the snow/ice.
Cons:
Headlamps went out often--usually after 15K miles but I do drive with lights on all the time. I quit using Volvo lamps and got some generics at Pep Boys and they last longer. Back seat is a bit cramped and truck opening is a bit small for some luggage.
Overall review:
Good car for the money. I will drive this thing until it dies.

pleasant first volvo experience

Pros:
Comfortable, safe, well built car with fairly nice performance.
Cons:
Minor problems including headlights, engine lights, side mirror motor (all covered under warranty). Brakes replaced at just over 30K miles - sooner than anticipated. Audio system ok but very limited and expensive CD options.
Overall review:
We have 40,000 miles and 2 cross country trips on this car. Very impressed with first Volvo experience. Safe, comfortable, fun car. Incredibly comfortable seats, even after many 12 hour driving days in a row. Realized just over 30 mpg highway even at 75-80 mph. Disappointed in fast wear out of brakes (30K miles), but they are incredible and will stop you on a dime if necessary. Performance not bad and has plenty of passing power at highway speeds, even out west where speed limits are 75 mph and scorching heat requires constant use of A/C. Slight turbo lag off the start, but no big deal for us as we are not aggressive drivers. A/C also puts slight strain on performance at low speeds. Very good handling in New England winters, and heated seats a nice bonus. Some annoying minor problems - fortunately all covered under warranty even as recent as 2 weeks ago (side mirror motor). Scheduled maintenance less frequent and less expensive then for our very reliable Honda Accord.
