Simple, Comfortable by Dad from Springfield on 03/14/2014. Trim: 2014 Nissan Xterra PRO-4X 5AT 4X4, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Very reasonable price. Heavy duty engine, transmission and 4WD system is standard. It tows 5,000lbs with the addition of just a hitch and electrics. Easy to clean interior. Lots of cargo space. Roof rack and steps so you can get up there. Roomy and comfortable seats, front and rear. Intuitive audio and navigation system. Great all around visibility due to large rear windows means easier backing up with a trailer. Superior off road comfort, handling and capability due to low gearing, locking differential and downhill speed control.
Overall review: This is a truck based, functional and strong SUV. It carries 5 people, tows 5,000lbs, goes off road, carries messy stuff in the back. It is attractive, functional, simple and well built. The rear cargo area is easy to clean plastic with tie downs that keep luggage from flying around. The durable interior is fantastic for a messy active family with teens and pets. The suspension and comfortable seats are firm and compliant. It handles well on smooth interstates to off road potholes. Unlike many SUVs with light duty All Wheel Drive, the Xterra has a long lasting, simple, heavy duty part-time four wheel drive system with 4 low gearing. With the 4 wheel drive disengaged on paved roads, 4WD wear is zero. Compared to the new Jeep Cherokee's complex computer controlled 9 speed all wheel drive system, the Xterra has 10 gears with its 4 Hi/Lo drive system. Opt for the 6 speed manual and get 12 speeds with the same 4Hi/Lo system. The manual locking differential means never getting stuck.

A TRUE SUV by CATWOMAN FROM MICHIGAN on 05/25/2014. Trim: 2014 Nissan Xterra X 4X2, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Stylish and handles well.
Cons: Gas mileage but knew it going in.
Overall review: I bought the X model and had the 4-wheel added, along with the side moldings. Added value for not much more money. Handles really well. The pricing was fair. Take the Michigan pot holes really well, who needs to go 4-wheeling. Very happy with my purchase.

I absolutely love this truck! by RiverBanks from Apex, NC on 04/08/2014. Trim: 2014 Nissan Xterra X 4X4, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Off-road performance, towing and power.
Overall review: I have a 2006 with 130,000 miles with no major maintenance problems. I pull my pop-up camper to the NC mountains once a year and it handles it with no problem. Toughest SUV on the market!

Great SUV if you want a real SUV by tim on 08/31/2014. Trim: 2014 Nissan Xterra S 4X2, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: I bought a 2014, stripped with no options- great SUV for the money. Real towing capacity- I tow 5k lb boat package, strong engine. Simple, but has blue tooth-cruise-power everything- what else do you need? Great for outdoors- bikes-kayak-etc. Cleans up nice, not fancy, real practical. It's really a truck dressed as an SUV. Seats fold down flat and front seats can be all the way back! You don't mind knicking the interior with a 2x4 from Home Depot, definitely rugged- build like a tank
Cons: Ride's like a truck a bit- sporty ride
Overall review: Great value for money, function over form, no options is well equipped, would buy again for sure, GREAT for towing
