Pros:
Quality of construction, solid ride, ease of handling, visibility, comfort on the road, appealing apearance.
Cons:
When you have the steering wheel all the way down (toward your legs) at night you cannot see that your high beams are on as the top of the wheel blocks the warning light.
The rear seats should be an option, not marked as an option and must take. Need better quality carpets. Don't paint the side strips and bumpers, they get "skinned" too easy. Need hard dark rubber/plastic.
Overall review:
I drove the Mercedes MSL, Jeep, Land Rover, X-5, GMC Tahoe and only the X-5 came close. The X-5 had the quality of the Land Cruiser but the ride was harsh. Without a doubt the Land Cruiser is one of the two finest SUV's on the road. My sister has owned 5 (just bought their 5th) and the service has been outstanding. If my Landcruiser holds up like hers have I will have no complaints--just drive it.

Super for a Lady

Pros:
Very reliable and comfortable. As a female drive, I feel totally safe in the car and still love the 2000 LandCruiser which I purchased as a lease return in 2003 with 31K miles. It now has 90k miles,still has great pickup for passing on two lane highways and withstands the hot, hot summers of Las Vegas, NV with quickly chilled air from the efficient AC. The LandCruiser is very comfortable for long trips as well as city driving. Usual gas mileage is 10 in the city, but jumps to between 16 and 20 mpg on the highway.
Cons:
Really nothing. I have had to have work done on the automatic door locks two times, but otherwise only normal maintenance.
Overall review:
I would give the 2000 LandCruiser a "10+", and would definitely consider buying another if this one ever gives up the ghost.
