Fun! Anywhere and everywhere! by WRX Fan from Texas on 07/29/2014. Trim: 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX 4-Door, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Great acceleration and handling for a car under $30,000. AWD makes it a joy to drive in any weather under almost any road conditions. Great safety rating and side curtain airbags make you feel safe. Subaru's are notoriously reliable, the engines are reportedly bulletproof under normal loads. Although some will argue that the 5 speed offered in the WRX is prone to breaking, this isn't necessarily true unless your planning on heavy modifications that cause increased stress on the drive train. Overall great car
Cons: As many will tell you, the interior is lacking. However Subaru made it a point to make sure everything that you touch on a regular basis has a nice feel to it, including where you rest you elbows, the shifter, and the steering wheel. One small complaint is the the center console is really far back, which makes it impossible to rest your elbow on the console and still reach the shifter. Also after about 5000 miles I noticed the power steering belt was loose, which was causing unnecessary noise during hard turns before the car was warmed up. Tightened it up and the problem was resolved. (The belt stretched a bit after the factory install I assume, overall easy fix)
Overall review: Overall great car, nothing you can really compare it too under $30,000. It offers performance but its also very practical and reliable. Would certainly recommend this vehicle for anyone who wants more that your typical performance sedan and plans on using it as a daily driver. If you have money to spend and are looking for a weekend or track car, look elsewhere, you might be happier with a BRZ or a two seater. If you want a car that you can take anywhere and do almost anything in, but still want to get from 0-60 in 4.7 seconds: this is the car for you.

A small smart safe car. by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/02/2014. Trim: 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX 4-Door, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Fantastic acceleration for smaller car. I live in hilly area with an on ramp to highway that is uphill. Made it up on snowbound hills leaving other cars of the same size at the bottom. Going down the traction kept the car in the right direction. Brakes and handling are fine especially in city traffic to avoid getting hit when cut-off. Feels safe. Accessories- like that I can charge my phone and use another outlet. Cup holders hold my cups unlike my previous car (miss the Chrysler convertible or 13 yrs though).
Cons: The only problem was with the plastic around a fog light that came off too easy when it bumped a pot hole or snow bank.. Hear they are going to lengthen the tab connectors.
Overall review: I tell everyone how I love it. I feel safe, a car I can depend on in all kinds of weather. Bought during a really hot summer and driven through the worst winter.
