Not Convinced-Yet by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/08/2014. Trim: 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL450 4MATIC.
Pros: Excellent smooth and quiet ride. Comfortable seating. 3rd row seat acceptable given vehicle size.
Cons: Step up running board is not that functional-vehicle sits almost low enough without the need but may be high enough for others-and is a bit narrow anyway. Pricey options-although GL's I saw were comparably priced to its competitors. Quality and reliability concern. See note below.
Overall review: Recently test drove both the diesel GL350 and gas GL450 to replace the truck-like ride of my late model Infiniti QX56 but also needed a 3rd row seat for teenagers and their friends. Diesel engine power and torque OK but not as near as strong as the gas version GL450. Great acceleration (for passing or freeway entrance) on the GL450 vs. GL350 and was impressive for the GL450. Overall fit and finish of interior is good for its class. However, during the "demo", the automatic second row flip seats did not work on one vehicle. We looked at a second vehicle and one of the two seats did not work. "Once a fluke, twice a pattern." This poor (and very) obvious experience kept me from purchasing-even before trade-in negotiations. This should not be an issue on an $80,000 vehicle-and does raise my concern regarding other potential issues down the road. The quality program at the Alabama factory needs a second look.

The Mercedes of SUVs by Yoshimitsu on 08/31/2014. Trim: 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL450 4MATIC, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: This is my second GL450 and had an Acadia Denali between. The 2014 GL 450 is the best SUV in the market. Got it pretty loaded this time, cooling cup holders are awesome, ride is quiet, nice handling, and powerful engine. Road trip is like being in Heaven. Gas mileage is improved from the 2008 model, and is better than the Acadia. For this price range, there are good choices, all will depend in style preference. I test drove X5, Q7, QX80, and land Rover sport, and found the Mercedes to be more for the money. Great choice if you like power, handling, comfort and prestige, you can't go wrong choosing the GL450.
Cons: When you adds up features, it gets very expensive. I like everything so far, no dislikes.
Overall review: On the top of getting a nice car, I also enjoy the 5 star treatment at the dealership. Recently took it for service, schedule an appointment by texting service , they were waiting for me with a 2014 E350 loaner, everything fast and nice.

Better SUV's Out there for the Money by An MSN Autos Consumer on 09/14/2014. Trim: 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL450 4MATIC.
Pros: Quiet and smooth ride
Cons: Numerous: Read prior years problems, they are the same. Acceleration jerky and throttle lag. Brakes: soft and slow. Electronics are hideous: slow, glitches, voice recognition must only be with a German Accent, stops working completely.
Overall review: Honestly not worth the money. A frustrated owner
