More fun than a sack of monkeys by 91 Sun Fun 318 Convertible on 09/09/2009. Trim: 1991 BMW 318ic, Owned 1 year.
Pros: tan interior on green convertible - always a conversation starter; usually "is it for sale?". Great gas mileage, amazing acceleration in second gear (especially with 92 octane gas); corners like it is on rails; second row seats actually usable; trunk takes at least two full size golf bags; soft top roof design easy to stow and doesn't let in water when raining.
Cons: Finding parts at reasonable prices, and the dealers are usually less than no help. Although no fault of the vehicle, the windscreen is much more vertical than other droptops and one definitely needs a hat that doesn't come off in the slipstream.
Overall review: I find it amazing that a 1.8l engine will happily roll along the highway at 130-140 km/h at 8-10l/100 km gas mileage, even if it is rather deafening in the cabin. Small exterior, large interior; really easy to park; beautiful design, always turns heads since the middle-aged balding guy driving it doesn't.

car of my dreams thank you BMW! by Chicago to Atlanta to South Dakota Bo. on 01/05/2008. Trim: 1991 BMW 318is, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Just bought this vehicle 12/28/07...Awesome handling, previous owner did a great job of the up keep, fits like a glove, interior super, clean paint, bought it at a great price, just bought parts for tune up and brakes even though it didn't need it remarkable car for 17 years of age.Engine runs like a swiss watch! No offense to german engineering, great gas mileage living in South Dakota we put alot of miles on the road, it has 165,000 when i bought it and i sure it'll go 500,00 easily this car is my dream car once owned a 1982 i sold it at 300,000 niles and still running...
Cons: the only con i have is the parts are still so darn expensive, service at a dealership will break you. only one little spot of cancer down by the muffler on the driverside rear can't even tell, but "remember it's 17 years old and happy bithday to my beamer"
Overall review: love it, I'll take a BMW over any car! Got too own one to appreciate it!
