Pros:
Styling.
Cons:
At night the instruments light up like a circus. Rattles.
Overall review:
Great marketing but the car does not back it up with its average quality.

Excellent Impracticable Fun When The Kids Are Gone!
by Dragnet from Paso Robles, CA on 08/18/2012.
Trim: 2012 MINI Roadster S, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
Totally customizable vehicle through any dealer.
Quick, responsive; handles like a big go-kart.
Excellent gas mileage.
Huge fun factor.
Cons:
A bit pricey.
Convertible top only comes in black color and is not of the highest quality.
Rather poor rear vision while the top is up, like most roadsters. Not a real "Con" if you know how to properly adjust and use your exterior rear view mirrors. You might also consider investing in MINI's Park Distance Control which sounds an alarm well before you smash into something while backing.
Overall review:
I'd recommend the S model for general use. Get the JCW model if you plan on spending time at track days. Remember, it's a "Roadster." Don't expect it to ride like anything other. The vehicle sort'a reminds me of my Triumph TR-3 and MG days. The only odd cabin sound I've heard is the passenger seatbelt buckle periodically clanking agains the belt post. Problem solved with hook & loop strip. Generates many smiles both inside and outside the cabin. I've found that MINI drivers tend to wave at other MINI drivers, just like what motorcycle riders do.

TOP DOWN FUN!
by Ramon on 07/15/2012.
Trim: 2012 MINI Roadster S, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
The styling screams MINI. This is my 3rd MINI in the last 7 years and it couldn't be more fun. The top down factor is a blast! Great cargo room for a small car - the "S" growls like a true Cooper - great Harmon Kardon sound system - leather seats provide solid support - has the go kart handling - and tech/sport package loads up the amenities. Fun factor 10+!
Cons:
The price gets up there with all the added features. Would like just a little more power in the S to compete with TT. Other than that it's great!
Overall review:
A terrific weekend car!

Grins from ear to ear
by Dave from Sunnyvale CA on 06/20/2012.
Trim: 2012 MINI Roadster S, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros:
Just a blast to drive.
Cons:
Mini connected navigation system is beautiful but very difficult to operate, especially while driving.
Overall review:
The second Mini in the family, so I knew what to expect. From the quirky instruments and switches (of which I'm not a fan) to the grins that come automatically when you squirt from where you are to where you want to be in an instant.
It seems to me that the Roadster rides as well or better than our Hardtop with sport suspension. It's a bit shaky on bad roads, but much better than the Z3 I had 15 years ago.
Handling and power are great with my S version. Surprisingly large trunk for such a small convertable.

Ordered the New Roadster from Flow Mini in Winston Salem N.C. They did a great job for us. We love the car. The ride and the handling is very good. Love the styling. We plan to enjoy it with the top down for many years.
Cons:
The options were a little pricey.
Overall review:
A great second car for cruising our beautiful curvy back roads on sunny days!!!!
