The Ultimate Disapointment
by AJAK on 06/03/2012.
Trim: 2013 Volvo XC90 3.2, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Great styling and interior space.
Cons:
This vehicle has been an absolute disaster for reliability. Electronics issues, transmission replaced ($8,100 as it was just out of warranty), leaking engine crank seals, cheap plastic trim cracking, etc. All these issues on the vehicle within the first 70,000 miles.
Overall review:
After taking advantage of the Factory Delivery Program, I thought I would be a Volvo customer for life. My wife and I toured the plant, ate lunch with the workers and drove the vehicle around Sweden before it was shipped to the U.S. Unfortunately, this vehicle has been a huge disappointment in terms of reliability. I should have trusted the myriad reports regarding suspect reliability for this model. Search XC90 problems on the Internet using any search engine and believe what you read. I should have...

Never buy again
by Dee New Jersey on 09/01/2012.

Pros:
It is a very sturdy car. A work horse for our family. Stylish.
Cons:
Time and time again we have had problems with electronics...windows, locks, etc. @ 70,000 The handle has fallen off the glove compartment, the windshield wiper fluid tube on the drivers side has fallen off not allowing the fluid to come out therefore not allowing me to use it in order to see. Now it sounds like a cricket is in the engine. The repair costs at the dealer are crazy.
Overall review:
We had a 2000 volvo station wagon (123,000 miles on it) & the 2006 XC90(70,000 miles) and both had/have ongoing problems. Will never buy Volvo again. Considering a Lexus or Audi.

XC90 Once, XC90 Again Soon
by Marv Overseas on 11/03/2012.
Trim: 2013 Volvo XC90 3.2 Premier Plus, Owned less than 1 year.
Useful?
Pros:
Purchased a new 2004 XC90 T6, drove it all over Europe until 2010. Fantastic SUV, handled all our needs, family visitors from the US, needed the 7 seats, kids, bikes, luggage, yard equipment, plenty of cargo options. Our local Volvo Dealership was incredible, from routine service to warrenty issues, they went out of their way to provide the best service possible.
Cons:
Over the six years we owned our XC90 we only had a couple of issues. Volvo replaced the CD changer. Volvo changed some chassis bushings on warrenty, and lastly there was a steering column recall. All were handled free of charge and Volvo provided a free loaner vehicle while they were working on our XC90. Great vehicle, great Dealer.
Overall review:
The only reason we sold our XC90 was we were not able to ship the vehicle to our next overseas location. When we move back to the USA the first thing we are going to do is purchase a new XC90.
