Pros:
The overall performance and drivability of the 2012 WRX is incredible. And if you opt for the hatchback model, as I did, the versatility is spectacular. The acceleration and handling are unmatched by almost every vehicle in a comparable price range. The transmission is rock solid, the clutch is perfectly weighted, and the acceleration is wonderful for such an affordable and useful vehicle.
Cons:
My only complaints about this vehicle involve the rather poor gas mileage with premium fuel of about 20mpg average. Also, the interior is nothing spectacular. The seats hold you in very well, the driving position is well engineered, however, the upholstery and materials seem to lack in quality. If your looking for a nicer interior and are willing to sacrifice performance for it, check out a Volkswagen GTI. Also, if you have young children they may not enjoy the engine/exhaust noise on longer drives.
Overall review:
A great buy if your looking for great performance with nice amenities and a useful back seat and trunk. However, if performance is not something your looking for you might want to look somewhere else because it is evident that some aspects such as interior quality and road noise levels have been compromised to create this performance. Also, if you want to fly under the radar while driving this car is not for you given the large hood scoop, wide fender flares, and quad outlet exhaust system.
