Lesus HS 250h, very good hybrid by inahurry from California on 02/10/2014. Trim: 2012 Lexus HS 250h.
1
Pros: very good on gas mileage. comfortable seats for the driver, a long trip would be no problem for this car. Very easy to keep at speeds on freeways compared to other hybrid vehicles. Very pleased to see lexus make this car, i was expecting a jazzed up prius with lexus badges when i first heard of it. This car is in no way a prius, this car still has 187hp, way more sporty than a prius. Brakes are great and easy to get used to. lots of great high tech gadgets in the car
Cons: body style is slightly too hybrid looking. I would expect a more comfort in the back seats in a luxury car. interior materials are not as quality as you would expect from a lexus but still a big step up from a prius. Head room in the back is slightly lacking if you are 6' or over. Trunk is not very big and rear seats do not fold down because of the car's battery being behind the rear seats.
Overall review: if you are looking for a hybrid and do not want to be driving a prius around. the HS is definitely a car to consider. Test driving this car is crucial, if you have never driven a hybrid before, the CVT transmission might throw you off slightly because of the way it holds RPM until you get up to speed instead of traditional gears. overall a good car if luxury and hybrid is a definite want. Still a luxury step up from the prius but only 35mpg. Lexus CT 200h is a car to check out as well.
