Deluxe performance and design for Bruno. by Bruno Sun City AZ on 02/11/2012. Trim: 2012 Toyota Prius V Three, Owned 1 year.
12
Pros: Ease of driver controls. The hybrid features make it very quiet and responsive. Oil consumption is nearly zero, with simple checking and filling provisions. Rear visibility in the V is better than earlier models (I have had three since 1902). Access to front and rear seats is excellent. General performance is superb. Mileage has averaged 45,3 for 6000 miles so far. careful use of gas pedal and speed can result in sessions up in the 48-52 mpg range.
Cons: None
Overall review: Top of the line transportation at a reduce operating cost. Excellent mileage above 45 MPG whicn can be increased by careful use of gas pedal and brakes provides high class economic transportation. I have had four Prius vehicles since 2002 and found the performance and reliability EXCELLENT . The V has a slightly different appearance with the small rear window removed. The car performance has been essentially the same. The V is somewhat more appealing in general appearnce with the new rear window area. Extra mantenance costs for the V and three prior models has been ZERO. Standard dealer mlleage checks and gas/oil have been the only costs involved. During more than 100,000 miles of total Prius ownership my extra maintenace cost and write ups have been ZERO.

Worth Waiting For by California Seniors on 02/09/2012. Trim: 2012 Toyota Prius V Five, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Having taken delevery on October 29th, 2011, we have a little over 3500 miles on this vehicle..We purchased our Prius at TOYOTA CARLSBAD in CA. (Excellent dealership). We selected the 5 series, with a few additional options, as it comes with all you might want.. It is very comfortable ,with more than sufficient head, leg and cargo room.. Our milage has been a little over EPA average estimates..Of course we were trying to better it ..
Cons: We feel that in addition to the backup camera while in reverse,a proximity alert sound to an object would be most helpful as the camera does not (in our opinion) show accurate closeness of objects.. Would like power seat adjustment on driver's seat, also lumbar support in passenger seat also makes sense.
Overall review: All in all we are very pleased with our choice of the Prius v (5 series) wagon/suv .. We look foward to continued carefree enjoyment of our selection..

Beware your Prius V smart key may disable an older Prius system by An MSN Autos Consumer on 04/05/2012. Trim: 2012 Toyota Prius V Five, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: It is roomy
Cons: I own a 2007 Prius with smart key and the new Prius V smart key disables the 2007 system, locking the car and disabling it. Toyota is aware of the problem, but doesn't seem to care. Toyota offers these solutions: keep the new smart key at least 10 meters away from the older Prius, or cover the new key in aluminum foil, or keep the key in an Altoids tin. Maybe Toyota doesn't want us to own more than one Prius!
Overall review: The smart key situation has ruined the experience! Toyota doesn't seem to understand that a two car family needs to have the keys on each owners key chain!
