Looks and Economy by Gene, Florida on 10/18/2012. Trim: 2012 Scion xD 5-Door Hatchback 4-Spd AT, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Reliable, easy to drive. Smart looking, and easy to maintain with the offered 1,000,000. power train warranty and 3 year standard maintance included.
Cons: Drink cups for driver not great. Would like a center console-armrest for comfort and storage. Side and backing views are a challenge.
Overall review: Great in town and on the road. Great bargain for the money.

Great little car! by Della on 12/18/2013. Trim: 2012 Scion xD 5-Door Hatchback 5-Spd MT, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Thus far this has been a great vehicle. Plenty of cargo room especially with the sliding rear seats. It is surprisingly peppy when going up steep hills, and the "gadgets" were easy to program and use even for a non techy person. The leg room in the front and back is great for small car, and the fuel economy is good as well. Sticker says 33 MPG, but I got 35/37 MPG on my first two tanks (highway driving/not running air conditioning) and am averaging about 32 MPG driving around town. (I have a manual transmission if that makes a difference.)
Cons: I find the cupholders in the front are a little small, and one of them has a small "bulge" in it which doesn't allow for a cup to sit flush. The other xD's on the sales lot had the same "bulge" - not sure what the reasoning is for that. The rear wheel wells aren't lined, and since my car is white, they look dirty all the time. The back center seat belt comes off the ceiling of the car which does affect visibility a bit since the rear window is small. I haven't yet attempted it, but there is a way to unhook that seat belt and "clip it up", and that might help with visibility if that particular seat isn't often used.
Overall review: This is a great little car so far. I have only had it about a month, but have taken it on a couple of road trips, and am happy with how comfortable it is and it is a smooth ride. I get compliments on how "cute" it is - though not as many as I used to get for my little '05 xB. I car shopped for months before settling on the xD - compared to the other cars of its size, it was the best value for the money, and Scion's pure pricing policy takes the guess work out of the purchase. There is no haggling, no "dealing", and you don't walk away wondering if the slick salesman has screwed you. The price on the website matches the sticker no matter what lot you walk onto. No regrets at all on choosing this car.
