My 2012 Lexus ISF Experience by DwG on 08/15/2012. Trim: 2012 Lexus IS F Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Design, handling, performance.
Cons: Technology Package, Mark Levinson premium audio system
Overall review: I have owned my ISF for 8 months now. I also looked at the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG and finally decided on the ISF. Power and performance wise, It exceeds my expectations. My only gripe is with the lack luster technology package and tinny sounding Mark Levinson "premium" sound system. I previously owned a 2010 Acura TL SH-AWD with the ELS sound system but hey, you don't buy this car to listen to the radio and play with tech features! Overall I am happy with my decision and highly recommend this vehicle.

Stealth Machine by stratman on 08/25/2013. Trim: 2012 Lexus IS F Sedan, Owned 1 year.
Pros: There are faster sedans out there (a few tenths of a second to 60) but all of them get really poor mpg and reliability can be an issue. This is my second ISF (had an '09) and the '12 out handles it by quite a margin. It is fast but also flies under the radar plus it is rare as Lexus intended it to be. I average 21.2 mpg and usually drive it in manual mode which is fun without endangering others on the road. When clear to do so this machine will reach triple digits in a few seconds and just wants to keep going. Like my '09, this IS F is solid, no creaks, whistles, etc. and has been rock solid. It is truly a fun, all around great sedan while still imbuing Lexus quality.
Cons: Tall or heavy set people may find the head room or seats too snug. I'm 5'9" and 210 (not fat) and I find the seats to be comfortable. Rear seat leg space is limited so here again, tall people may find it a tight squeeze. Though the IS F is about the size of an Accord it is heavy at 3780 lbs. If it could loose about 250 lbs its performance would really be phenomonal. It is pricey but when all is said and done, you do get what you pay for.
Overall review: In the 2011 VIR Lightning Lap, the 2011 IS F finished with the same time as the 2011 BMW M3 coup with the new sport package. Both bested the C63 AMG Mercedes. The 2012 IS F has a few more suspension upgrades so it should do even better. This is a huge leap in performance over the '08 - '10 IS F (first year for a true Torsen LS diff) while offering a much better ride on the street. Good mpg considering the 5L v-8 and its performance capabilities, the 2012 IS F is a wonderful machine. I am very happy with it and intend to keep this one for many years to come.
