Great SUV by raaaa on 07/20/2012. Trim: 2012 Lexus GX 460 460, Owned 1 year.

Pros: Very comfortable ride!! Excellent acceleration for such a large vehicle. Getting 20 MPG -- woud highly recommend.
Cons: My only negative issue with Lexus is... DO NOT bring it to the dealer for an oil change. First oil change is free second one they tried to charge me over $500 for an oil change, tire rotation, battery in fob change all other BS --I did not leave the vehicle there.
Overall review: Lexus does not make a great vehicle.

Commercial reviews are fine, but DRIVE the GX, it's better than you think by KH from Los Gatos on 10/29/2012. Trim: 2012 Lexus GX 460 460 Premium, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: My SUVs of consideration were third row vehicles that had had a better than average interior, I looked most seriously at the MDX, but also gave serious consideration to the MX-9 and JX, but also drove the Explorer, Highlander, Pilot and Treverse. For interior quality, nothing came close to the Lexus. Towing was not a factor for me, but I wanted a vehicle that had a masculine feel to it, the JX was not able to deliver in that department. Gas mileage isn't great, but the return is a peppy engine on a VERY heavy frame. I also really like the sliding second row to help with leg room for the third row, without that need, the leg room in the second row is fantastic.
Cons: I am not thrilled about the exterior styling, but really, none of the SUVs look "good" to me, outside of maybe the Range Rover Sport and I didn't really consider BMW or Mercedes; I am done with the reliability of German cars (I am coming from a BMW and swore off of Benz). Of course I wish for better gas mileage, but every time my bimmer was in the shop, the repair bill was in increments of $1,000; with Toyota reliability, I could get half the expected 17 mpg and still be ahead.
Overall review: I drove the GX expecting not to like it, after a test drive and a run to Infiniti . . . I drove the GX again and was hooked. The electronics are fantastic and the driving experience is as you would expect from a Lexus, sure it's a little numb, but it's a luxury car (opps, truck). Who cares, I have had some very high performance vehicles, this doesn't try to be something it isn't, I respect that, so much so, I bought one.

Nice Looking SUV by Lady of the Lake on 08/01/2012. Trim: 2012 Lexus GX 460 460 Premium, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Nice SUV to drive and the gas mileage is a bit higher than advertised. I get 23 on the highway and around 19-20 in town. The premium package is by far the best looking with the black & silver. Lexus is outragous for maintence so go to Toyota they have same parts, but charge less. Lexus should take a lesson from being reasonble with their maintenance.
Cons: Maintenance costs at Lexus of Bellevue
Overall review: It would be great if the gas mileage would be improved, but you can haul, tow, drive in the snow and haul 7 grandchildren, without a problem. You just can't find an suv that is just right with good gas mileage.

Perfect drivetrain and interior. by David, Mesa, AZ on 05/09/2012. Trim: 2012 Lexus GX 460 460 Premium, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The GX 460 handles very nicely on the highway for a large vehicle. It rides much better than my prior Landcruiser. It's been getting 20 mpg (mostly hwy) on reg gas. I love the folding third row of seats. It tows my 4,000 lb boat effortlessly.
Cons: I wish I had waited 1 year to get blind spot protection. I wish it had dual sun visers that can block out lateral and frontal areas.
Overall review: A pleasure to drive even without blind spot protection.
