Two Rodeos and still in love. by RobbyDee from Tulsa on 03/06/2008. Trim: 1998 Isuzu Rodeo S V6 2WD, Owned 3 years.
Pros: Great looking truck. I actually purchased this truck as a rebuilt vehicle and it still looks incredible. Plenty of power without terrible gas mileage. Everything about this truck is easy to use and easy to maintain. Bought it for my wife and I can't get her to even look at anything else.
Cons: Just had the intake manifold gasket replaced ($230). Apparently this is a common problem with these, but it was an easy and affordable fix. Wheel skins/hub caps do not stay on very well. Have lost all but one. Rides a little rougher than my '97. Where did the disc brakes from '97 go?!?
Overall review: This is our second Rodeo and we still love these trucks. The '98 isn't as confortable a ride as my '97, but it makes up for it with the new styling. if you are looking for an affordable SUV that you will love and will love you back then this is your truck. Keep up on the maint. and it will keep running.

STAY AWAY FROM ISUZU!!! by GSP rider on 02/18/2005. Trim: 1998 Isuzu Rodeo S V6 4WD, Owned 6 years.
Pros: innovative engine, good power, 4wd performance
Cons: poor reliability and built quality, worst dealer service
Overall review: it's a great truck when it's running. The only problem is it's more often in repair shop then in garage. The following was replaced in 5 years: 1) transfer case; 2) engine cylinder heads; 3) ABS controller unit; 4) engine computer; 5) intake manifold; 6) cv joint boots; 7) cylinder head gaskets (again!) Last time the truck started to overheat (leaking coolant internally into engine), truck spent almost 2 month in Open Road dealership (Edison, NJ) who changed the cylinder head gaskets gaskets but did not eliminate the leakage - never go there, they are jerks!!!). Independent mechanic suggested engine replacement together with catalitic converters. That was the end of it, I junked the truck. Well, you got the picture, the choice is yours.

This truck is a great value by Todd K from Rich Central Olympia Fields on 01/26/2005. Trim: 1998 Isuzu Rodeo S V6 4WD, Owned 7 years.
Pros: The horsepower for this around town is impressive.
Cons: 1.The ride is a bit rough, but it may be due the additional wieght in the four wheel drive transmission parts. 2. Isuzu seals their transmissions, precluding you from using anyone else to service it but an Isuszu Dealer. You will need to keep up with maintenance so you do not caught on trip far away from a dealer.
Overall review: I would buy this truck again, however, I suppose I didn't need EVERYTHING. This truck is a great value if you don't go crazy for leather, sunroof etc.

s0-s0 truck by PA guy from San Diego on 05/20/2004. Trim: 1998 Isuzu Rodeo S V6 2WD, Owned 6 years.
Pros: It's a very nice truck with a lot of room for cargo. Acceleration is acceptable and seats are quite comfy. Very durable....
Cons: The air circulating knob is dead 2 years ago and it's pain driving on freeway with trucks arounnd you. It was fixed under warranty but it came back again....now the warranty expires... Very noisy at high speed and bumpy which makes me sick sometimes
Overall review: If you need room, get a Rodeo but not for the comfort you will get from other SUVs.
