The best SUV by Die Hard Honda fan on 04/17/2012. Trim: 2012 Honda Pilot EX 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.
11
Pros: The 2012 Pilot has "brisk," great accleration because of the newly redesinged transmision. The brakes are not the ferrari kind, but they are preety good. Remember this is a 4,500 pound car. It is very confortable in all the rows. The thrid row is excellent, very spacious. The speakers are great (EX). No roadnoise and newly designed tires are on the Pilot, along with the acuostic windshiled. We bought this car as a family of 5. People complain about this vehicle, I dont see why, I have three Hondas, two High Mialage. 98' Accord 210,000 mi, 2007 CR-V, 110,000 mi, and 2012 Pilot, 2,000 mi. All orginal engines and transmissions. Just maintain them people!!!
Cons: At first I complained about the dashboard, but overall other things tend to override the dash. I wish the EX came in black for the interior, as cloth. But the gray is not bad. You can get second row seat coveres as an option, which I recomend if you have a family. Use scotchgaurd for the interior to help protect against stains. You should be fine. There is a slight humming noise when the car is idling and the A/C is on. Its not big deal because there are two raidator fans, which makes the Pilot more heavy duty. The humming noise is very slim. The car jerked when you changed it out of its gear and that only happens up to 1000 mi because it's so new and the motor mounts are settling in.
Overall review: If you are a Honda fan you know you can buy this and easily hit 250,000 miles if you maintain it properly. Now do not trust Honda if you give it to them to maintain it. They tend to break other things, or make them more prone to breaking so you can come back and they steal your money. Make friends with a trustful mechanic. Otherwise maintain it your self, or google how.

Minivan replacement by George from New Jersey on 03/31/2012. Trim: 2012 Honda Pilot EX 2WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Excellent ergonomics, lots of space (can sit 7 adults comfortably), quiet, easy to drive, and high ground clearance. Averaging 21 mpg after 1000 miles with an equal combination of city an highway driving. I expect mileage to improve slightly after breakin.
Cons: Average performance.
Overall review: Recommended for larger families that don't want a minivan.

There are better models on the market. by rt101 on 09/25/2012. Trim: 2012 Honda Pilot EX-L 2WD.

Pros: Roomy for passengers.. Good ground clearance. Can tow small trailers. Lots of cargo space.
Cons: Road Noise is unreal. Seat comfort or lack of it. No normal features like other makes..that cost less. Need better options on power seats and tilt wheel. Any decent auto has more than one sun visors. My old 4runner had two- so when you move it near the window glass, you still had one for the sun on the windshield. Honda needs to handle some quality issues with their autos. Honda buyers are sold on Honda and buy their products regardless of their low quality or inferior to other brands. Some would buy their autos if it had square wheels, as long as it had Honda stamped on it. Honda has had a history of bad trannys and other issues, if you just check the web, for such.
Overall review: The AC unit is so noisy...it not that way on other brands. No six speed tranny. No upgrade engines for the pilot or the CRV. They have a more HP in the accord than they do the Pilot engine, why? Pilot needs an engine upgrade. Seats are uncomfortable. ROAD NOISE! Do they drive these auto and hear all the road noise. It not even enjoyable riding in those noisy cars. Features.....you can get more for less in other brands... Honda is too cheap to give its buyers just things that other makes add to their autos. Look what the Koreans are adding to their models. My biggest complaint is against the dealers... My experiences with them, if you have a problem, they will tell you to go pound sand...They are not interesting in resolving any problems, in my experience. Honda buyers must be like a friend of my on voting... He votes for the party...they could run a murderer for congress and he would vote for him because he votes for the party not the quality of the candidate.

The one and only Honda Pilot by Tred - Kansas City, KS on 07/21/2012. Trim: 2012 Honda Pilot Touring 4WD.

Pros: This is a great SUV. What i love about Honda is how they have a variety of cars. They have a car for every class, sub compact, compact, midsize sedan, small suv, large suv, and mid size truck. Honda is always class leaders. This car was very spacious, cozy, and the seats are very, very comfortable. Steering was nice and fluidy, but yet tight, acceleration was incredible, i got on the highway, and i looked at my speedometer, and next thing i knew i was going 80 mph. I had to let go of the gas until the car slowed down!! It climbs hills great, its very responsive, its a great car.
Cons: None at all.
Overall review: This is a class leader, a great car, and it should be a role model for everyone out there to show them what a SUV is.

Happy Pilot Owner in New England by Boston on 03/25/2012. Trim: 2012 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Size - big enough to carry 8 people comfortably, and tow a small (18 ft) boat Back up camera display is excellent with a 10 inch screen. The same screen is used for the radio which is easy to read. Easy to park and see around the vehicle. The turning radius is excellent as compared to my last minivan. 4wd is a hug plus in the NE region and works well.
Cons: No roof rack as part of the car - the dealer wants $500 to install it. Ride is on the stiffer side but I also have a 07 Accord and the ride is similar. Highway noise can be high, especially if the pavement is not super smooth.
Overall review: Overall excellent car, good value for the money and a great family vehicle. Honda's reputation for reliability is a plus.
