First Mini-Van
by El Mont on 01/28/2012.
Trim: 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Touring, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
Excellent styling and accessories. Passenger comfort in rear seating is exceptional. Rear seats "stow" instead of having to be completely removed . Convenient isle-way between rear seats. Tire pressure indication on the dashboard is a definite PLUS. All/most vehicle performance can be monitored from the steering wheel controls producing a "non-distraction" display on the dash board.
Cons:
Nothing as yet!
Overall review:
Excellent vehicle. Very comfortable to drive. To our amusement, we continue to find conveniences , both driver and passenger, that are not covered in the owner manual/CD each time we drive it.

Unbeatable Value
by Traded in our Import on 04/27/2012.
Trim: 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Touring, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
The Chrysler offers an unbeatable value. We own a base Touring model with the Safety Tec package. It includes a number of features found only on the highest level trims of its competitors including leather, rear-seat entertainment (DVD), parking sensors/cross-path detection, etc. Excluding price, our first choice was the Honda Odyssey which, to get the items just mentioned, along with a six-speed automatic, would have been $10K more than the Chrysler (i.e. Honda Odyssey Touring Elite). Given the transmission problems of the Honda, we didn't feel the Chrysler was that much of a gamble relatively speaking (we previously only owned imports).
Cons:
Despite being substantially revised and improved in model year 2011, the vehicle was introduced in 2008 and its age shows. Body panel gaps are large and inconsistent, the paint job is inferior, the Chrysler has a fixed steel-mast antenna (didn't those go away in the 80s?), and the platform seems a little less rigid. Inside, the interior plastics are a little cheap and seem to intrude on the interior more than the competitors, especially in the third row.
Overall review:
The Chrysler is all about value and leaves fit/finish to the competition. For the price difference, and given that we expect our kids to "trash" it over the next 5-8 years, we were okay with that trade-off. In terms of safety and reliability, I expect the Chrysler to be comparable to the competitors.

Cons:

Overall review:
Mileage is very good. 12 hour trip averaged 24.7 on the interstate and about 22 mixed. Would like to see a little better economy in the future. Overall this is my only complaint and it is trivial at that. Buy this vehicle you wont be dissapointed!!!!!!!!!!
