It keeps on going and going and going... by Jetpilot (Jack Peoria, AZ) on 01/04/2007. Trim: 1994 Isuzu Amigo XS 4WD, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: My last review was at 7 year mark. It has been 14 years now since I bought the truck and it is sill a great looking and dependible small SUV. After a bath it still looks like new. Only few basic repairs in 14 years (breaks, starter, clutch, tune-up).
Cons: Same as 7 years ago: Could be a little bit faster, hard to get to the back seat
Overall review: This one will stay with me till it falls apart, which by the look of things will not happen soon(at least another 7 years). This one was build to last. Shortly said: It keeps on going and going and going...

SUBSTANCE AND STYLE by Lam Van Le from Las Vegas on 07/17/2005. Trim: 1994 Isuzu Amigo XS 4WD, Owned 4 years.
Pros: Good Looks! Can be customized in a variety of ways to be a feminine and pretty SUV or a ruggedly handsome truck and everything in between. It's very unique in this way. 4WD is very good. Back seat is comfortable. Front seats are very comfortable. Interior is fun(rear seat has soft top)and flexible(fold up/take out rear seat to make it a mini pickup truck/ front seat has hard top). The brakelight is mounted on the roof in the middle of the truck. It's the only vehicle on the road with this characteristic. Amigo lettering and graphics are a plus! People definitely notice the appeal of this truck's good looks and unique characteristics. Check it out if you get the chance!
Cons: Back seat entry is tight even for thin people. Since Amigos are more rare than Jeeps (that's a good thing) parts and after market goodies are a tad harder to acquire (this on the other hand is a bad thing). The soft top is not as simple as it could be to put on and to take off; though, I am assuming here because I am neither a designer nor really that mechanically inclined. And I guess I can complain about the gas mileage but not really- I knew this was a truck I was buying and not aerodynamic fuel efficient transport. No, you cannot have it all, I guess, or so the market hasn't offered anything close to an improvement on the Amigo just yet.
Overall review: I love the characteristics that make this truck unique, even 11 years later. And say what you want about grahics on vehicles, I think when you see them on older vehicles it makes you think back to good times, younger days YEAH! The Carrera lettering on Porsches, Those flamin chickens on the Pontiac Firebirds, The quirky Amigo lettering on Isuzus, BRING BACK VAN ART!! You gotta have style to like style!! Aint that the truth!!

Amigo by Carrie from Wichita, KS on 09/22/2004. Trim: 1994 Isuzu Amigo XS 2WD, Owned 2 years.
Pros: Not much. It would be a good car for teenage drivers, not one for families.
Cons: The top flaps and whips while going down the road. It is not a good vehicle for getting in and out of the backseat. The top leaks everytime it rains. The tires can not be changed with out an impact wrench due to the manufacturer putting tight bolts on. The oil dipstick is on the bottom side of the engine, so you scrape your arm trying to check the oil. It has a hydraulic clutch.
Overall review: If the person who owned it, was young, I could see liking this car, but not me.

The Amigo by Carrie from Wichita, KS on 07/01/2003. Trim: 1994 Isuzu Amigo XS 2WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: It is an easy car to drive, great for a teen's first car
Cons: It is too small for use as a family car, Child seats do not fit well in the car, the canvas top stitching has rotted out and the top leaks water into the car. The snaps on the canvas top have had to have several replaced.
Overall review: The car is an okay car

Best Little SUV!! by Teenka from Virginia on 03/15/2002. Trim: 1994 Isuzu Amigo S 2WD, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I love the way my Amigo looks. I love the soft top. It handles very well. I've had no mechanical problems other than normal wear and tear.
Cons: Radio is positioned too low. The front seats need to be able to move up further. It's difficult getting into the back seat. It could use a little more power.
Overall review: I think it's a great SUV. I would reccommend it to anyone who's looking for an SUV. My dislikes are very minor and easy to get use to.
