Survived falling by Rich from Rochester, NY. on 02/25/2004. Trim: 1991 Isuzu Rodeo XS 2WD, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: Very durable and reliable Rugged styling Great value
Cons: Rear seats are a pain to lower No cup holders
Overall review: I bought my rodeo new in 91' and have over 200,000 miles on my rodeo, and going strong. I,ve never had any major mechanical repairs just normal wear and tear. I replaced the clutch at 140,000 miles that,s it for big repairs. I,ve been very diligent about maintenance and only use synthetic oil. This truck has been through he** though body wise. I had a woman pull out in front of me, hit a deer, and it fell off a lift getting the exhaust replaced! Right now it,s starting to rust here and there and i,m torn between fixing her up and repainting or going new.I feel i could go another 100,000 or more easily if the body holds up.

My Best Friend by Lil' Red Rodeo from Yakima, WA on 02/05/2004. Trim: 1991 Isuzu Rodeo S 4WD, Owned 7 years.
Pros: I love my Rodeo! I have three kids, and ever since I bought my Rodeo used in '97- it has been everything from a family car, to a 4-wheeling, mudslinger! My ol' reliable has pulled my husbands old heavy, clunky, 3000lb boat with no problem! (because I was driving- ha ha- we had to replace the clutch and the brakes once) I once pulled a chevy suburban out of the mud- and he was up to his doors in it! I couldn't have asked for a better, more dependable suv!
Cons: I would like it to have pw, pl, and maybe a rear windshield wiper/defrost... the seats are not real comfy, for long trips.. and my old friend has quite a few "squeeks" coming from the back (5th) door...
Overall review: I bought it in '97 with 38,000 mi, and its up over 100,000mi now... and still going! I luv my Rodeo, and even though my hubby offered to get me a "new" vehicle this next year- I can't say good-bye to my old friend! ha ha, no really, I will have to think hard about it- I will probably end up buying another Rodeo!

Reliable Friend by Dave on 07/15/2003. Trim: 1991 Isuzu Rodeo S 4WD, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: I accumulated 115,000 trouble-free miles on this vehicle before the transmission went out in 1998. This early retirement of the transmission was due to hard use and to the lack of that slippery stuff called oil that I am supposed to keep in the transmission. I always assumed that these 30 minute lube places were checking all the fluid levels, but apparently not. This vehicle was driven rather hard with allot of city commuting and some hauling time with a 2,500lb trailer. I also use to pull down small trees with this truck. Therefore I do not believe that the transmission failure was due to any quality defect, just hard use and abuse.
Cons: I did have the front brake rotors warp at 8,000 miles, but this was covered under the factory warranty. The brake problem never occured again.
Overall review: Over-all this truck was a good reliable friend for many years. I sometimes wish I still had the old Rodeo . Especially since I spent $3,500 dollars for a new lease-on-life for the transmission. I bet it would still be running today.
