Great if you're not expecting a Sports car
by Kae from San Jose California on 01/31/2004.
Trim: 1990 Isuzu Amigo S 2WD, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
I like the styling. I like the look when the top is removed as well. In my opinion looks WAY better than the competiton (jeeps, etc.)
Cons:
I agree with another poster. The Interior is suspect quality. I too have had the window cranks snap off (both within weeks of each other). Luckily I was able to find replacements at a local junk yard.Someone damaged my Glove Box trying to get to my CD player. Now the Glove box is non functional and can't be replaced. Bad design. Rear Seat bolts are easy to bust off too. Performance is also an issue, but then again this is NOT a sports car now is it?
Overall review:
Still all the above are minor issues. I liked my truck until it got hit New Years day and totaled. Insurance company will not give me replacement value either. They are currently only offering me $1275 for it. What a rip as I haven't seen even 1 for less than $2500.. What a BLow Job..

Will run until a meteor hits it.

Pros:
Great engine/transmission reliability until about 150k miles. Taken me to LA, Mexico and Phoenix numerous times. Will pretty much run until a meteor hits it.
Cons:
The interior is built of paper, or at least the durability seems that way. So far, the door handle has snapped off, the backseat bolts have broken TWICE, the top has clouded two separate times in the 4 years that I've had the car (about $300 a pop).
Overall review:
Reliable, but watch the interior; like I said, will run until a meteor hits it!

the best ever

Pros:
This is the best vehicle I've ever owned. I bought it new. My first new car all to myself. 214000 miles later...four trips cross-country and back, through snow and sleet and dead of night. Through 12 break-ins, and one accident, it's still going strong. It's outlasted my mom's Rodeo, and my dad' s Trooper.
Cons:
finding replacement parts now can be a hassle.
Overall review:
I would buy another one in a second. it handles great, looks cool and I haven't had any major problems. preventive maitnence is a must, but it's been very dependable.

Under Rated Little Truck
by Downhill skier, California on 05/05/2002.
Trim: 1990 Isuzu Amigo XS 4WD, Owned 7 years.
1
Pros:
It is great in the snow and off road, plus handles very well on the highway. I get lots of compliments about its looks even though it is now 12 years old. With the rear seat folded or pulled out (need to take out about 4 bolts), it has lots of room inside. I can fit my 190 skis inside, although they need to go between the front seats. It is built on a strong frame & is more like a pickup truck in strength versus a unibody light weight. It also has 4-wheel disc brakes.
Cons:
Slow to accelerate, but once up to speed it wants to go. Cruises at 75 to 80 no problem. Gas mileage could be better, but I'm a lead foot (18 is about average, 20 is about tops). No hydraulic lifters, so it will rev out nice and high, but needs to have valve lash adjusted every 15,000 miles. Soft tops need replacement about every 5 years, but there are several after-market suppliers. Replacement hard tops are expensive & difficult to find.
Overall review:
A very tough and reliable little truck at a reasonable price. Change the oil and stay up on the routine maintenance (mainly valve adjustments) and it will last a long time.

Pros:
Very reliable, fun to drive, take the top off.
Cons:
4 cylinder slow to accelerate, back seat uncomfortable and hard to get into.
Overall review:
This car will run forever and is great for one or two people. Change the oil and it will run til the doors fall off.
