Ford does have a better idea by An MSN Autos Consumer on 11/22/2011. Trim: 2011 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCab 6.5-ft. Bed 4X4, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Had this vehicle 5 months and love everything about it. The 5.0 V-8 just loves to rev and the power is more than a person could need. The combined fuel mileage is 18 mpg with about 60 percent hiway and 40 percent city. Better than the sticker estamates of 16 combined mpg. I actuall get between 20 and 21 mpg when I take trips that consist of mostly hiway and a some city driving. The Electric Power Steering is wonderful.
Cons: Can't find any yet
Overall review: For all you who own the 5.0 USE PREMIUM FUEL and you will be pleasantly surprised at the increase in performance and fuel mileage. If you can keep you foot out of it you will gain enough extra fuel mileage to offset the added price.

This is Ford's best V6 truck EVER!!! by Randune23 from Wyoming on 10/19/2011. Trim: 2011 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 5.5-ft. Bed 4X4, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Power when you need it and better than average MPG. Back-up camera (also known as the marriage saver) is great! Very, very comfortable seats and the rear cabin are so roomy. The 4.2" screen takes some getting used to but everything is touch screen and easy to navigate. The truck apps (for pulling trailers) are a nice touch. The remote start (standard on higher end trucks) is great when you want a warm cabin on those cold days (and it can be set to shut-off after 10 minutes if you forgot you started your truck). Dual rear power outputs are necessary if you have kids. The courtesy lights when you first unlock the doors that emit from the mirrors are a nice touch.
Cons: The cup holders could be bigger to handle a large water bottle. Missing the side tray on driver's side of center console (which is on the passenger’s side of the center console). The driver needs this extra storage at their fingertips and don't want to have to lean across the big & roomy center console. When you plug in an iPod to the sync system you have to turn the stereo volume up so loud and the volume up on the iPod just to hear it. I just keep the iPod in the center console and jam out to the Sirius Radio. The tailgate step doesn't lay flat and is still a little clunky. I really wish when you would add the chrome package to your truck it was actual chrome and not silver plastic.
Overall review: The Ecoboost is a great advantage for the driver who needs torque and sometimes needs that extra power to pass that annoying person in front of you going 5 mph under the speed limit. I've turned many heads when I pass and the twin turbos kick in. It's not an overly annoying turbo sound but it would make Tim Allen happy. I've pulled our 9,000 lbs camper behind it and it pulls with such ease that you almost forget the trailer is back there. I'm only 4k miles into my new truck and I routinely am getting 19 mpg around town. Virtually unheard of when you talk about trucks. Great job and this truck would make Henry Ford proud to have his namesake on the front grill.

Great Work Truck by Fordracer from Kansas on 07/02/2011. Trim: 2011 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 5.5-ft. Bed 4X2, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Just picked up new "company" truck today. Amazed at the power and fuel economy of the 3.7L V-6 especially since I am a "no substitute for cubic inches" guy. Would like to have had the Ecoboost V-6 or the new 5.0 but pretty impressed with this one for the first day. Averaged 21-22mpg on 300 mile trip home. Love the sync sysyem but will require a 60 year old dog to learn new tricks to get it all programmed. Extremely quiet ride and the electric assist power steering is much better than anticipated. Very comfortable ride.
Cons: Only weakness so far was a lot of downshifting on uphill grades when cruising but it did maintain cruise speed well. A little more torque would have been nice.(there I go with the cubic inch mentality again :) )
Overall review: Not too much else to comment on but hopefully this truck will live up to it's great first impression on me. Will probably have this truck for 150-200K so will definately be an ongoing test. The 2006 Super Duty I traded for this was at 170K and had been a very good truck but fuel economy was not an attribute.

built ford tough by dave from KY on 04/19/2012. Trim: 2011 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCab 6.5-ft. Bed 4X4, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Love the 5.0 power, the ride, the features, to put it short I love just about everything about it. It's a great truck!
Cons: The grill and headligts are still growing on me.
Overall review: Every generation they keep on getting better. I love the older trucks for there own reasons, but this truck is so easy and fun to drive. I'm not sure if there is anything it won't do. Love the 5.0, i'm glad the 5.4 is gone.
