2011 ( Tacoma sport Black) by pennsylvania on 01/22/2012. Trim: 2011 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab V6 Auto 4X4, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The sport package makes this truck look and feel great when driving. Second snowfall an this truck just drove with ease through some of the steep, ,curvy, backroads, felt great! When you want power its there. The 4.0 is a great proven motor an with toyota reliability there is nothing that compares. I was a huge chevy fan, owned the silverado an colorado but got turned on to toyota by my girlfriends corrollo s- when she hit 145,000 an never went back to the dealer for nothing. @ 175,000 still not one problem, just regular oil changes an reg maintenance. Toyota knows how to build vehicles with quality parts. The tacoma is a proven midsize truck thats been tested through the yars.
Cons: My only dislike would be nothing @ all!!!
Overall review: Toyota- one of the most trusted vehicles on the market, just wish i wouldnt have been so cheap in the past and went with chevy because of price. But i found out the hard way- you get what you pay for!!

Pros: Just got 19.44 all around in town with a 15 mile trip each way with 10,000 miles on the tacoma v-6. Power is surprizing for a 6
Cons: Needs to keep the acc. after you pull the key on till you open the door.
Overall review: Mileage is getting better with more miles, 5 speed auto is real winner, this truck has a good motor and tranny.

The 2011 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab by Loopner Navigating the roads of Minnesota on 04/22/2012. Trim: 2011 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4X4, Owned 1 year.

Pros: I have been a girl without a truck for 20 years. Folloiwng months of research I chose to buy the toyota tacoma. Unfortunately, it was late in 2011 and there was only one Tacoma access cab in all the midwest that met by color requirement for Packer green. The price and unacceptable color change in the 2012 made the 400 mile trip to Chicago worth it. The Tacoma feels and looks like a full size truck without the price or over kill for how I use it. The few negative reviews demonstrate that when you produce thousands of vehicles a year there is going to be a few lemons and a few hypersensitive buyers. What's impressive is the quality control that is synonymous with the Toyota brand.
Cons: I love everything about this truck!! Unfortunately this 2011 Tacoma did not have the SR5 package, I miss the navigation, computerized mpg and outside temperature features. And what is up with the center console hinging and opening to the side rather than hinged in the back??
Overall review: You will not be disappointed in the Toyota Tacoma. Do your research then go test drive the different models. I did not find a competitor that compared. It handles as good as either of my Grand Cherokees and tows my fully loaded cargo trailer significantly better. And Toyota has made some nice design improvement in the 2012's (except for the new green exterior)

The best overall truck on the road. by Goldieoldie on 01/30/2012. Trim: 2011 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab V6 4X4, Owned 1 year.

Pros: The last reviewer must be a Nissan salesman. I've owned Toyota trucks since 1989 - 7 in all, including 3 in this past decade - and have only traded them in for something "new"; the trucks themselves were fine and basically self-sustaining, problem-free. A car mechanic friend of mine (a Ford aficiando, curiously enough) considered the basic Toyota truck engine the best ever built, period. And they still look great after thousands of miles of use. And their safety strengths, both driving in bad weather and accidents themselves, are a major plus.
Cons: I wish - many of us do - that Toyota would return to the slightly smaller design that was discontinued in 2004. I loved that styling (many are still on the road and look fabulous), a bit more accessible to drive, not as bulky. The interior isn't more than basic and the plastic parts there are easily scratchable, though quality control remains high on the delivered product. And definately get the 6-cylinder over the 4-cylinder, unless it is the plain simple 2-door version. The 6-cylinder has plenty of acceleration and shifting ease for the access and double cab versions. The ride remains rugged, not unbearable.- I routinely take a 5-hour trip south with no problems to my 57-year old back.
Overall review: This isn't a truck for old grannies (it sits too high for them, anyway) or Nissan salesmen. It's a solid, well-built everyday working truck for all middle-class functions that will hold up exceptionally well with normal maintenance for at least a 150,000 miles, or more. You really can't ask for more than that from a truck. The best overall truck on the road.
