We actually do own one
by Cedar Rapidian - home of the homogenous exposure unit on 05/17/2012.
Trim: 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML350 BlueTEC, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
Drive Lexus or BMW and then the Mercedes, there is no comparison in the driver's feel for the vehicle. It may be sprung a little tight for some yet the balance in the handling is far superior to anything near it's class. The Bluetec diesel delivers INCREDIBLE mileage for a vehicle nearing 3 tons, over 20 in town and consistantly over 26 on the highway. Combined with emissions reduction thru the use of oil injection to reduce the NOx into simple nitrogen and water, it is simply the cleanest SUV out there - Hybrids can not compare to it. Change the oils every 10,000 miles, diesels can easily go several hundred thousand miles..
Cons:
It can and does cause reactions from the standard homogenous exposure unit. If you know what that means you may be able to afford a Mercedes. Some of the "haters" (read other reviews) are questionable in thier reactions, avoid getting a personalized license plate that says "Got cash?"
Seriously if you have cash to burn you can order a super expensive car, while that may be true MOST Mercedes on the lot have just a couple of (albiet not cheap) options. Avoid too many options, it does not help the depreciation.
Overall review:
Look for a 1-2 year old vehicle after choosing the options you want. A $60,000 Bluetech can be had for $45k, trade in the old 8 yr old ML350 for 10 grand - out the door for $35K less anything else you put down. I see alot of pickup trucks out there (they are nice by the way) that cost more. You can't fix redneck, but you could fake it in this car by trading in that truck.
It is a drivers car, pure and simple. We live in Iowa and drive everyday regardless of weather. The Land Rovers (too top heavy which makes overcorrecting an issue) are in the ditch come the first of the snow season. We have had multilple 4 wheel drives, nothing has compared to the Mercedes ESP system, the ML350 is oblivious to the worst of it, even grades on ice.

FINIST CAR I HAVE DRIVEN A REAL DREAM
Cons:
NO SPARE TIRE
Overall review:
THIS IS AGREAT AUTOMOBILE WITH THE BLUETEC DIESEL 650 MILE RANGE 30 MPG OUTSTANDING HANDLING. THE US IS MISSING THE BOAT NOT PERFECTING THE DIESEL ENGINE. WITH THE BLUE TEC YOU CANNOT HEAR THE DIESEL NOR SEE ANY EXHUST THAT GIVES AWAY THE FACT THAT IT IS A DIESEL. MERC-BENZ HAS DONE IT RIGHT.
ALL MADE IN THE US, YOU CANNOT BUY THIS CAR IN EUROPE

Mercedes- Benz ML550 - 2011
by Merc Owner from NYC on 01/18/2013.
Trim: 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML550, Owned 2 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Great performance, handling, acceleration, power, ....
Cons:
Grew in time to love every bit of it.
Wish the Navigation could be better; or at least as advanced as the mechanical qualities of the car, but .... (an additional Garmin complements the personal taste in Nav equipment)
(MPG could be a little better, but the satisfaction from the available power and acceleration, are a great excuse for the extra $ in gas - every good car needs gas)
Overall review:
Great SUV with car-like handling. For the best and most unbiased opinion, please try it if you can. Satisfaction behind the wheel is guaranteed!!!

"So So"
by JAE from Los Angeles on 12/08/2012.
Trim: 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML350, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
The car is nice and comfortable. Depending on how I drive it, at times I can get up to 26MPG. It's unfortune that these are the only pros for such an expensive car.
Cons:
Horrible handling, you feel every bump on the road, extreme lagging, no power at all, fake leather. To sum it up: you dont get what you pay for, you simply pay for the name. (overrated)
Overall review:
The car has only had one issue in the past two years which Mercedes took care of in a good maner. Although the car might look "pretty", you dont get what you pay for. The drive isn't that great compared to other cars at the same price range. The car is only good for minimal city driving, especially since its a RWD. Its not an amazing car nor is it a horrible car. Its just too plain for a Mercedes.I have taken the car into snow with cables, performance in snow was terrbile. Pretty much as I said before, its to be driven only during sunshine and on completely paved roads or else you feel each and every bump in the road. I wouldn't recommend the car to friends because I simply am not enjoying the car. When the lease is up, I forsure am not getting a new one.
