Terrific Tig by Rural NE New Mexican on 04/05/2012. Trim: 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition, Owned 2 years.
Pros: I like the fact that this compact SUV only weighs 3,300 lbs, which must contribute greatly to the nice driving dynamics. The punchy turbo engine is fun, especially with the transmission in the sport mode! Get the APR upgrade for another 50HP and 50 ft-lbs. The interior comfort and upright seating position is really comfortable for the long haul. The steering wheel controls are a nice feature, and let me scroll thru the computer while driving. The blue-tooth is also really nice with our cell phone. I have the leatherette seating surfaces, which are very comfortable and super easy to clean. The one-touch up-down feature on ALL of the windows is another little VW extra which is nice.
Cons: The mileage is disappointing, especially since I traded in a Passat TDI for this. But, if I keep the speeds down (65 or less), I can average 28 mpg. Premium fuel is also a bit hard to accept, but I understand that this is a sophisticated little engine. Limited luggage space behind the rear seats, unless you remove the cargo cover. Cargo crossbars should come stock with the vehicle. The location of the electric emergency brake switch, on the console, is horrible. We have accidentally activated this more than once while underway, a jarring experience to say the least. The stereo system is just OK, I expected better from VW.
Overall review: Highly recommend, if you're in the market for a compact SUV the Tiguan deserves a close look.

Great with one flaw! by Christine on 11/30/2010. Trim: 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan S, Owned 1 year.
Pros: Great pick up (love the Turbo)! Great overall car.
Cons: I love my Tiguan, except the windshield wipers have already disconnected themselves from the engine twice in snow storms. VW says its a feature so the engine does not wear out. I think its a safety hazard.
Overall review: OVerall its a great vehicle, great service...except windshield wiper engine design flaw.

Volkswagen Tiguan SE 4 Motion by Bill from Illinois on 05/20/2010. Trim: 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan SE 4 Motion, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Best mid-size SUV on the market.
Cons: More expensive than the others, but worth it!
Overall review: If you don't need the size of a Toyota 4Runner, but you need the AWD. The Tiguan SE 4 Motion is the best SUV available. Go to Youtube and watch the other midsized SUVs get stuck in the snow, mud and dirt. Then you will understand.

Great Ride! by RiRi from Portland on 05/20/2010. Trim: 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan Wolfsburg Edition, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: The one thing that has most impressed me about this vehicle is the smoothness of it. It accelerates very smoothly and has a very quite and comfortable ride. I've owned a Lexus RX330 and my Tiguan is as good as if not better than the ride in my Lexus. It handles very nicely around corners and has more than enough power to get over the mountain passes without having to downshift. It really is a great ride.
Cons: I wish the seats were longer. I'm not a big person, and the seat ends 3/4 thigh length. Wish it went to the back of my knees. Couldn't imagine a really tall person being comfortable in the shorter seats. Also wish the head rests could be positioned forward and backward rather than just up and down.
Overall review: I am very, very pleased with this vehicle. Have owned and driven several SUV's (Toyota, Lexus, Dodge, Hyundai, Kia) and my Tiguan is by far the best. I can't get over the ride and how smooth it is. I've never had an automatic that has shifted so seamlessly. The extra features in my Tiguan such as the panoramic sunroof and the premium touch-screen stereo with iPod interface make a long trip more enjoyable.

AWESOME SUV! by Everfam, Portland, OR on 05/20/2010. Trim: 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan SE w/Leather 4Motion, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Styling and features are spot on. The SUV looks great coming or going. The panaromic roof is AWESOME! The seats are confortable and easily adjustable. The SUV has plenty of room in the standard configuration and more than ample cargo room with the seats folded down. The split level fold down seats is great feature. Despite the ride high ride position, handeling mirrors our previous Jetta, very good! The 4 Motion is great in the wet, snow or dry conditions. The added Free maintenance for 36K miles or 3 years is an excellent selling feature.
Cons: I would add a few more horse power above 200 bhp. However, the engine and performance (acceleration, fuel mileage) have been impressive. I would also add beefier speeakersto the standard radio offering it sounds a bit "tinny". Easy to remedy the speakers with after market speakers for less money than upgrading to the next level radio. My wife would like a "auto" lift and close tail gate or at a minimum a pull down strap on the read tail gate.
Overall review: Great SUV, we looked at them all in this class and for the money the Tiguan was the best value.
