Just drive and service: by Hyundai X 2 on 02/02/2009. Trim: 1998 Hyundai Accent GL, Owned more than 10 years.
Pros: The price was just what i was looking for. Not a lot of bell and whistles just a basic car with ac
Cons: It is hard to manuver in close tight places without power steering.
Overall review: We bought the car new right off the showroom floor! The only thing I see is that I started having to add a quart of oil every 2000 or so miles. It doesn't smoke or leak any fluid----don't know where it goes-------i asked my wife if she wanted to get a new one and she said "no" she like her little car.

1998 Hyundai Accent GSi by Lexx from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada on 11/04/2007. Trim: 1998 Hyundai Accent GSi, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Head Room, Interior Space, Reliability, Sporty Looking Profile, Not Overly Boosted Steering, Elbow Room, Go Anywhere Motor, FUEL ECONOMY.
Cons: A bit of a climb into the back seat even with the front seats folded all the way forward, Rear Head Room is only good for people under 6 foot tall, Skinny tires lose grip fast in the rain (particularly the back tires like to shimmy), Manual sunroof is tricky to operate.
Overall review: Love this car. Haven't owned it long, just a couple of weeks, but I've driven several others of the same generation in the past. Acceleration is predicatable and acceptable... it's not great but it could be a LOT worse. Ride is actually quite comfortable, the suspension soaks up bumps without transmitting them into the cabin... In exchange for a little bit of noise of course from the suspension when it happens of course. The engine WONT die. 192,000 kilometers (nearly 125,000 miles) on her and she's still like new. The automatic is doing well too... shifts a lot more smoothyl than expected for this class of car. Steering is accurate and confident except in the rain, where it get's a little squirly, thank the short wheelbase I guess. Oddly this characteristic doesn't seem to be an issue in snow... Interior controls work well, radio was replaced by previous owner with a CD player, speakers are good. Seats have held up well. Over all a good car. Like a comfy roomy go-kart!

The car that will get you where you want to go! by The Green Hornet on 01/28/2005. Trim: 1998 Hyundai Accent L, Owned 7 years.
Pros: I have 130,000 miles on my Accent.I did not have to do anything except change the oil, buy some tires and brakes till 115,00 miles. Then I needed to replace the clutch (after teaching my sixteen year old daughter how to drive a standard)and then the distributer. Car is fun to drive. You can wind out the five speed to get quicker acceleration. It is not a race car but it will get out of it's own way. It is a great car in the snow. I went through the April Fools blizzard and the Blizzard in Jan 05. Never got stuck! Also the hatchback fits a Cristmas tree every year.Lots of storage with the back seats down.
Cons: The wind can blow it around on the highway. And the check engine light goes on too much. Then goes off the next day. Also it is tough too look cool in this car but " oh well"!
Overall review: Great basic transportation for a car that is going to driven hard and used for your basic everydy needs. It is fun to drive if you have the five speed. Kind of like driving a go-cart!
